Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty and very spicy - combined with notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, alcohol, and spices, leading to a dry finish.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of sliffy. Pours a cloudy, amber golden with an off-white head. Fat vinous aroma of overripe fruit and some yeast. Fairly full in body, sweetish caramel flavours and overripe fruit. Touches of vanilla and wood and a very warming alcohol in the finish. Dry and lightly bitter finish. A nice one. 280907

75 cL bottle, thanks to Myrup. Pours hazy deep orange with a creamy white head. Quite spiced and slight chemical aroma. Flavour is quite nice raisin flavoured, somewhat sweet malty and slight spiced. Ends mellow with a spice note. Nice flavour, but aroma isn’t great.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear ruby, creamy albeit brief head. Woody, perfumy almondy nose. Very sweet with thick, almost oily mouthfeel. Almondy yeast character, butterscotch and strawberries are being pushed back by oak and bourbon. Very potent and malty, reminiscent of a brandy. Intense. The wood is well strong, but it still works fine.

clear dark brown, wispy beige head, caramel and chocolate aroma with a huge overpowering bourbon character that adds lots of alcoholic fumes, aroma eventually settles down a bit after an hour or two to hot caramel, creamy body, rich hot caramel flavor, lots of fruity sweetness, light spicyness, bourbon character blends in well, turned out better than expected and better than the aroma would indicate,

still hot but the alcohol blends in very well with the fruity character

Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm, vintage 2007
Hazy color, red to dark amber, with a medium sized creamy head. The aroma can be perceived already while pouring the glass; there is some malt, caramel, delicate oak and light glue. The body is well structured, there is a strong malt flavor and, either the age or the barrel, it seems to be quite oxidized; medium sweet; there is some light vanilla flavor too, and a touch of light liquorice. The final is balanced, the bitterness is respectable, and the alcohol starts warming the throat. It’s a good, solid beer, but I would not drink it too often and it’s missing some exciting edges.
Suggestion: even if I like my beers with low carbonation, this sturdy beer is better appreciated with a slightly higher level of carbonation.

Red/golden with a small, but creamy head. The aroma has notes of raisin, wood, vanilla and flowers. The mouthfeel is quite oily. The flavour has notes of raisin, oak, vanilla, warming alcohol, oranges/citrus and flower. The alcohol is a little too dominating, but still it’s a very nice beer! Thank you Steve (Coldbrewky) for this one!
