| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Thick beige head on a clear copper red/orange body. Aroma - grains, rice? alcohol. Slightly unrefined alcohol warmth but this works out well anyway. Red berries, grains, exotic nuts and seeds. This grainy flavor rocks. Not too sweet which I like. A very credible American BW. noncaloric (620), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 11, 2009 Updated: Mar 8, 2009Thanks daknole. Pours a hazy orange-red, almost glowing, with a large beige head with good retention and lacing. Strong aroma of raisins and other dried fruits. Flavor is led by medicinal bitterness and somewhat stale malts, but then redeems itself with an estery finish full of raisins, prunes, and spices. Very smooth, creamy palate, alcohol warming comes off as a flare of cinnamon and peppermint fire. But honestly difficult to finish, even as a sipper. branspra (225), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark orange color with a small head, white in color. Lacing is excellent. Aromas of wine, port, figs, and a hint of raisin. Texture is creamy start with an oily, sticky finish. Carbonation is average. Flavor remind me of raisins, figs, or other dried fruit. Alcohol is hidden well in this beer. pjweaver (133), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a dark mahogany with a thin white head. Redfruits and toasty malt on the nose, boozy warmth. Redfruit, booze, and sweet malt explode on he tongue, boozy burn remains for a while on the palate. Smooth. bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear dark copper with a creamy off-white head. Full sweet caramel, fig and citrus aroma. Full body and minimal carbonation. The taste is very much like the aroma. It seems to be a fairly simple version of a traditional English Barleywine from one of the American cousins. Very lightly bitter. joeymacaroni (187), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA
