| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2008 Clear deep ruby-amber with lasting beige head. Sweet, sugary aroma, dessert, like rum cake. Soft, nice low carbonation. Very sweet! Not chewy so it’s ok. Juicy and pretty good for a sugarfest. thickfreakness (130), AUSTIN, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2008 Pours dark ruby with a short lived off white head. Smells syrupy with raisins, alcohol and lots of musty malt. Taste is much of the same with a lot of booze and plenty of overripe fruit and musty malt. Slightly syrupy and medium carbonation. An ok barleywine. Sephiroth (66), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2008 No date to be found on this bottle. I am using the usual tulip. This beer goes from muddy brown to a clearer amber. Minimal foam, but lovely. The nose is of sweet caramel malt. Raisins and figs are strong aromas in this one.
The taste is sweet and loaded with caramel malt and some fruits. There are a lot of sugars running around, and some light hops are felt at the back of the tongue. The mouthfeel is very lightly carbonated. Not as unrefined as the taste and nose. I give a low score for drinkability, only because I intend to age the rest of my bottles for at least a year.

WBI pours hazy and coppy with a rather large head. It smells sweet and sort of like peach syrup (the kind that canned peaches come in). The sweet smell of figs also comes through. The body is quite thick and coats the tongue. The taste is sweet with a hint of hop bitterness in the finish. This is a well done barley wine, not too intense and not too wimpy. jrmac (213), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Pours a murky brown. Good head for a barley wine. Aromas of malt, malt , and more malt. A hint of sweetness. Alcohol is well hidden here and the hops are completely balanced by the use of malt and whatever else was used to make this brew. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 6, 2008 Murky amber color with a khaki colored head that shrank to a thin layer of bubbles pretty quickly. Nose of caramels, ripe pit fruit and alcohol. Lots of melted caramel in the flavor, with rum soaked peaches, candied grapefruit, and good home made bread. This improves as it warms, but the alcohol becomes more prevelent. Nice barley wine.
