Commercial Description:
At Weyerbacher, we prefer to brew things true to European style guidelines, so our barley wine is definitely on the malty side, without being overly sweet. Notes of date or perhaps fig on the palate follow a pleasurably malty aroma to your taste buds. The finish is warm and fruity, and begs for the next sip.

Poured from a 12-oz botth a dark brown. The aroma was of thick malt. Had a sweet taste of fruits with a strong alcohol backbone. Definately a warm finish that got better with each taste.

Dark fruit aroma with hint of the alchohol to come. Clear amber golden with small fine white head. Sweet flavor of raisins and plums with a thick malt sweetness. Full body and a sweet finish with some bubblegum and fruit and a bit of hot alchohol. Nice sipper.

Bottle @ Dutch Ratebeer Session. Aroma has a lot of sugar, fruits, malts. Clear, amber-orange coloured with an off-white head. Taste is sweet, sugary, has maltiness and fruits. Alcholic. Unimpressive.

The first barley wine I’ve tried. Very alcoholic, huge sweetness. Dry finish.

extremely dark orange amber coloration with small dissipating head. vinous aroma with sweet malts and perhaps some apricot. alcohol is evident in the taste, with a syrupy sweetness that is very palpable on the tongue, especially at the finish. good though, nice b-wine.

This is standard weyerbacher. A little much alcohol, a little too unbalanced. This is not a great barly wine. Unlike the what the desciption says this is overly sweet. Sweet aroma and sweet flavor. Tastes like beer flavored syrup. I would not like barley wines if this was the first one I had.

Bottled. Clear orange color, short head. Very sugary aroma. Sweet taste, bit alcoholic. Just average.
