Strong alcohol taste, but it definitely warmed me up and gave me a nice buzz at the same time. Scubatrip (388), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2006 From the bottle, pours a translucent dark red with a foamy off-white head, very little lacing. Smells sweetly of alcohol and green grapes (but mostly alcohol). Taste is very much of alcohol, from beginning to end. Lightly sweet, but overwhelmingly alcohol. As it warms, there is a bit more fruity taste, the grapes are more apparent, there is a warmth on the palate as well, but that alcohol taste is still there. Pretty good for the style. invalid (302), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2006 I really don’t like this beer much - not that I’m a huge BW fan. I’ve had this beer twice, once in an aged bottle and once on tap. Both times they were thick as syrup and only tasted like alcohol. Too hot for me. DeuceDeuceOU (51), Athens/Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 8, 2006 Pours a deep opaque red with a small amount of cream colored head. Minimal lacing as well. Beer has a very alcoholic aroma to it but also a little sweet. The taste is immediately very strong in alcohol, but then slowly fades into sweet grape juice. A little smooth but not too much. Slightly acidic with some hop and itterness towards the end. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 8, 2006 Poured cloudy red-brown. Lush thick off-white head, not too much lace. Aroma was malt, toffee, brown sugar and dark fruit with a tart, almost citrusy background. Taste was malt, malt, malt, caramel and ripe dark fruit -- not too sweet and retaining a hoppy bitterness. Mouthfeel was nicely coating but not syrupy. cbkschubert (2017), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Aroma is caramel malt and esters. Has a light toffee malt and fruity flavor. Kinda chewy. Alcohol is noticeable. Medium to full body. A typical BW. A good BW. Thanks Ty. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2006 Tried this years ago and still am not that impressed. Sweet malts with alcohol present in aroma and taste. Not chewy at all, finish is sweet. I do like the name and label. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2006 Thick, muddy amber pour with almost no head. Chewey marzipan and caramel aroma. Soft candy malt flavor, fruity and lightly sweet. Fig and vitamin flavors also. Little hop flavor. Big body. Low bitterness. Low carbonation. The alcohol hits the sinus. Has some aldehyde notes. Pretty nice.
