| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 24, 2009 Aroma is not strong but is pleasantly malty with hints of apple brandy and caramel. It pours a clear, dark mahogany with a thin and not too persistent head. Flavor is somewhat malty with touches of caramel and cloves and a strong but not overwhelming brandy-like bite. Texture is smooth, a little edgy and hardly fizzy. BeerBlockaid (548), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Barely Wines!!!!! So the image on the label bothers me a bit. Bloke looks like Ricky Hatton in a Jester suit. Some serious bags under those eyes mister. Well, what can you say about a barely wine that has not already been said? Lots of sweet malts, past dated fruits, cloyingly sweet. Molasses, dark fruits, and some Hop attributes. Nose is in typical fashion of taste on this one. I like the Werthers original taste that moves about in this brew. Takes me back to that creepy commercial with the old guy, who had that face...you know..that guy. Wouldn’t mind pouncing on a few of these but would be afraid the sugar would do me in the next day with a "Wine-like-hangover." shawnm213 (999), South Bend, Indiana, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 20, 2009 A deep copper pour with very light head and lace. Aroma is a dried fruit, like dates, a deep brown sugar or molasses aroma kicks in as wall. Flavor is rich sweet raisin juice with a very nice bitter finish and a nice smooth warmth as well. Full bodied with good carbonation for a big beer. Very nice beer. Well done. dimenhetfield (210), , Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Barley Wine has never really impressed me thus far and I can’t say that this one is any different. The taste is lighter than most barley wine and bland. The aroma isn’t too great either. beerfest5 (200), Simsbury, Connecticut, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2009 Source: 12 oz bottle purchased from Bruisin Ales in Asheville. Glass: Poured into a snifter. Appearance: Poured a clear amber color with a thin beige head. Aroma: Dark fruits and sweet malt. Flavor: Very malty, caramel and toffee. Palate: Medium/full body with soft carbonation. Overall: Another solid offering from Weyerbacher...though they have yet to offer anything too amazing.
