| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Dark brown pour with excellent ruby tints and a one finger beige head. Aroma is strong of hops, alcohol, and caramel malt. Flavor is quite boozy with a very sweet fruity caramel component to balance it out. Hops take a back seat, but are reminiscent in the finish. Palate is mildly syrupy, but thin for the style. Nothing too special. AmEricanbrew (1929), orange, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 3, 2009 Bottle at Taco Mac during epic free shirt quest- this is beer #13, the one that earned me the shirt. Pours hazy copper with a small off-white head. Boozy bready caramel malt aroma. Thick and rich, full of caramel/toffee with just a hint of fruity hops. Certainly not bad, but I was a little disappointed with this one after falling in love with Weyerbacher’s amazing Double Simcoe. yesyouam (602), Fairport, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2009 Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot is a cloudy, deep amber ale with a small, dense, khaki head that has good retention and lacing. It has a slightly sweet, malty aroma with notes of spicy green hops, juniper and black pepper. It is full bodied, creamy and very smooth; almost flat with a slightly gritty finish. It’s pretty well balanced. The malt is a little sweet and the hops taste very green. It’s very drinkable, even at 11.1% ABV. TampaBrew (867), Tampa, Florida, USA
