Dark cherry color with no head. The aroma is strong of coriander. A fairly high alcohol content, but certainly not noticable in the taste.

[At RBSG 2005] An orange beer with no head. The aroma is very alcholic combined with notes of ginger and spices - especially cinnamon - a very complex aroma. The flavor is fruity with lots of peaches and ginger, but also lots of alcohol - so much, that it burn the throat. The end is alcohol dry. Too alcoholic to really be me.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a mahogany color with only a trace of a tan head. The aroma is strong and sweet with a grapefruity element. The mouthfeel is moderately thick. The flavor is sweet with strong ripe fruits, molasses, raising, caramel and cinnamon elements. There is a mild alcohol burn towards the finish. A nice offering. We also discovered that it pairs quite nicely with chocolate.

Lightly hazed, tawny crimson hue, with a slim off-white head. Deep, complex nose, cherries and dark malt, rich burgundy feel, burnished brandy...I like it. My kind of aroma. Taste: ooh, ow, ah! Big, fat, flabby entrance on the palate, not shy in the least, huge malt, fantastic fruitiness...almost TOO huge, but they it softly shuffles off until the next taste, ...then comes the sting, and the 13 % alcohol volume is not playing coy. Flavor remains huge at the fore, and I rather enjoy the struggle, brief though it is...the cherry brandy taste continues huge and stays strong, a tasty nightcap...I like this. Decadent indeed.

Bomber from brad. Pours a dark copper color. nose is light alcohol, lots of malt and caramel. Taste is kinda dry, lots of malt and caramel again and a bit of unwanted alcohol mixed in.

Bottle poured a hazy copper with a creamy, tight and long lasting amber head. Aromas of ginger ale, toffee, and honey. Palate was heavy and syrupy. Flavors of honey, ginger, other assorted pie spices, and cola with a sweet warming finish.

Interesting. reddish/amber, no head, sticky looking, spicy, sweet malt aroma, with a hint of hops. Flavor is sweet, sticky, notes of honey, ginger, other spices, hops seemed lost to me. Ok, didnt expect this.

No, no, no. The sweet, almost cloying honey nose cut by abundant spices gave me hope, but the massive alcohol harshness lingered beneath. No benign Scottish water beastie, it leaped in assault at the first sip and did not relent. Like a bulldog clinging to my throat and making my eyes water. Awful. Some butterscotch notes. Licorice? This is hot, unfinishable, and I have a lingering suspicion that as the alcohol mellows with age, the huge amount of spices, flavors, and off-flavors are not going to meld well. Your mileage may vary.
