Murky red amber, little to no head. Sweet minty and spicy aroma. Honey, mint, other heavy spices, with a pantina of alcohol. Finish is very alcoholic. Mouthfeel is heavy and hot.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of lil’ ol’ me. Pours a clear dark reddish-brown with a small light-brown head. Very sweet aroma and flavour (in a good way!) of roasted malt, caramel, honey, alcohol and (after much deliberation) cardemon. The alcohol tasted quite strong and I found it burned a little but that’s to be expected with 13%, I think in a year or two it would be mellower and my rating a little higher. A very enjoyable and original beer.

Bottle: Fiery amber, on the darker side, moderate foamy beige head, spotty lacing, single stream of carbonation.   Spicy nose, cardamom and all-spice.   Taste is very similar but with an added root beer barrel candy and sweet potatoes.   Very unique.   A little too strong tho, almost cloying.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full, and its quite warming as well.   Spiciness lingers well after the finish, and I mean well after.   Slightly hot as the beer warms.   Definitely a big beer, but perhaps a bit too much over the top?   Thanks Jeff!

Bottle from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo courtesy of blankboy - shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry and GregClow. Dark amber / brown/red colour. Small white head. One of the spiciest aroma’s I have ever encountered, what those spices are is a mystery to me - maybe some nutmeg, but I would go with the spice called rack - it smells like a bunch combined. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel. Strong taste of honey, malt, and spice. Tastes quite strong as well (as it should). I found it almost apple cider like. Very nice, original, and substantial, I just could not drink a lot of this.

Bottle from D’s. A bit pricey at $4.25. Pours with essentially no head. A deep, dark amber color. 13% ABV apparent but not overwhelming. Taste is full and complex enough not to be overpowered by alcohol content.

Bottle from my man Pailhead. Pours a clear, deep ruby color with no real head formation. Some foam piles up around the edges but leaves no lacing. Aroma is fairly pleasant. Spicey nose with cinnamon and ginger striking a chord with me. Medium bodied, slightly coating and syrupy but somehow lacking in palate. Undercarbonated. Flavor is sweet, residual sugar with a moderate alcohol presence. The pleasant spice in aroma just doesn’t carry through to flavor. Somewhat disappointing.

Poured a great clear ruby color with tint of orange and a small off-white head and nice alcohol legs. I know the high grav beers usually don’t have a large head but a little more and it gets a 5. Sweet malty aroma mixed with alcohol, honey, and ginger bread cookies. Flavor is sweet, syrupy and slick with some spice. Very warming sensation but I am also drinking this pretty warm. I couldn’t wait for it to cool down.
