Had this multiple times and now that I’ve sampled it over the course of about a year, its time to rate. Pours a orangy copper color with not much of a head. Sweet aroma of honey and maybe some spice. Flavor is of honey, spice, alcohol and a few sweet fruit notes going on in the background. Syrupy consistency and still a bit evident on the alcohol, may need to sit a bit longer.

Poured a weird orangish-brown. Nice though. Aroma of honey with alot of spice. Flavor was much of the same, got better with time. Good mouthfeel; nice fullish body. Alcohol very evident to me.

Bottle. Aroma of honey, citrus fruit, and alcohol. Taste much of the same. Significant malt character. The alcohol and fruity presence makes the beer taste similar to rum.

Courtesy Dorwart. Amber/brown, small off white layer of foam fades to a ring. Sweet candy - like fruit snacks or a fruit roll up, honey - lots of it, and some herbals/spices - not too specific, for sure a bit of anise. Very, very sweet. Should be good in about 5 years. Full body, syrupy. I’d like to have one to lay down for awhile.

Cloudy red/orange pour. I had to pour somewhat aggressively to rouse even the thinnest head. This beer hasn’t turned, it’s just ultra viscous and carbonation seems to be trapped down in the recesses of the glass. Huge honey leads the aromatic charge, followed by: herbs including sage, rosemary, oregano, some coriander and curacao, a little anise, potent candy sugar. No traces of alcohol, an excellent trait for a beer with this very high a.b.v. A lovely mouthfeel with carbonation so compact it feels silky. Initial honey and rosemary taste dominate the flavor. Plenty of malt is present and overly sweet. Very cloying, no balance to speak of. This is the sweetest beer I can remember having anytime lately, possibly the closest flavor to mead I’ve encountered without technically crossing into that realm of fermentation. I should have started this beer at sixty degrees, it’s becoming quite nice at these warmer temps. Weyerbacher confuses again.

Bottle 2005 vintage: Cloudy orange amber color with a smaller white head. Nose is complex. Mints, honey, seemingly cloves. Taste is mostly sweet with a hint of ginger, cloves, more mint, hints of alcohol, and a whiskey like note. Very smooth, the alcohol presence is just perfext. Thanks to DocLock for this one!

22oz - thanks Hopscotch - Aroma is a messy pungent mix of honey, clove, nutmeg, ginger, alcohol, carmel and yeast. Pours cloudy brown with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is maltier and therefore better than the aroma, Spices are still there, but more subduded due to the carmel malt. Alcohol bites to remind you of it’s potentency. Palate is hot and creamy. Reminds me of Avery 12 (which I didn’t like either). Interesting, but not my style.

Bottle. I was kinda scared of this one, so I had to wait for some people to share it with. Pours an orange brown with a white head. Aroma of orange-honey cough drops, some sweet malt...a bit medicinal...some spices as well. Flavor of orange zest, honey, sweet malt, and brown sugar. Syrupy mouthfeel...sugary sweet throughout with a sweet medicinal finish...a bit hot still as well. Not bad, but kind of a sweet, sugary, malty mess.
