Commercial Description:
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Bottle: Pour was dark golden/amber. Aroma was strong with simcoe hops (big surprise) and a malty character. Alcohol was hidden well in this brew. Flavor had a hint of pine trees but was well balanced. I don’t prefer simcoe hops only but this concoction seemed to work out. Good brew.

From bottle. Pours hazy amber with decent head and lacing. Huge hop aroma. Good balance of hops and malt flavors. This is my first Simcoe-only brew. Excellent effort.

Pours a hazy dark golden amber color with a lusciously thick light tan head. Aromas of pineapple and citrus reach the nose while the pint glass is still on the table. Closer sniffing reveals background notes of pine and hints of malt. Remarkably thick yet subdued mouthfeel leads into a layered finish beginning with bit more of the citrus from the aroma, but leading into a large amount of slowly developing grapefruity quinine-esque bitterness which sticks around for quite a while.

12oz bottle. Big thanks to abcfan for this one. Aroma is hops, earthy notes, pine and a hint of citrus. Flavor is hoppy but earthy. Good hop bitterness with some pine and citrus. Finsihes bitter with a little soapyness. Mouthfeel is medium but could use some more carbonation. Definitly a different take on the style with all the earthy flavors. Not my favorite but was enjoyable none the less.

Beer wasa hazy orange color. Nose is grapefruit, hops, and other citrus. Taste is a little disappointing to me. Very piney and not enough of that grapefruit that was on the nose. Still pretty complex though.

12oz bottle. Nice orange/brown color. Nice fresh hop aroma, grassy and citrusy. Sharp hop bitterness initially, lasts for awhile too. Very tasty brew.

Brewed in the USA !!! (KSBF) Pours a nice amber color with a sm tan head. The aroma is of citrus, hops, and caramel malts. Taste is very hoppy with a strong grapefruit finish. Kind of bitter but but very well balanced.
