Commercial Description:
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Bomber into tulip. Oh, Weyerbacher 2Simcoe IPA, how I do love thee, let me count the ways. Beautiful, deep, rich, glowing ruby orange color with a mammoth, rising off-white head and thick, heavy lacing on the glass. Ample, yet refined and complex sweet hop aromas. And the flavor: my words cannot suffice. Simcoe hops and more sweet, sticky, delectable Simcoe hops on top of a rich, luscious, caramelly malt foundation. This is a huge beer, and it melds together like the fine work of art that it is. A hop lover’s wet dream. I’m thinking of legally changing my last name to Weyerbacher.

Hazy copper color with a moderately thick white head... Very floral hoppy aroma... Doesn’t have the creamy quality that many Double IPA’s have, which is a plus for me... Very drinkable for a 9%, alcohol masked well, comes out a bit as the beer warms... However, as with most Weyerbacher products, i cant seem to get over the metallic taste in the finish... Seems present in all their beers... Good for me til the finish...

Finally rated a beer I’ve had a dozen times. Cloudy copper pour, medium white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, orange and just lots of sweetness. Flavor is the same big malty punch of sweet caramel, some grapefruit, orange, and a hint of pine. Just too damn sweet and malty though for my liking, I really just want to taste straight hop juice.

Bottle thanks to degarth at home. Aroma is packed with high alpha acids, citrus butter and toffee malt. Taste is similar, noteable caramalt but completly dominated by citrusy americna hop goodness.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a large white, creamy head. Aroma and taste of primarily piney hops, some citrus and grapefruit notes. A very drinkable beer. I liked that it was bitter but didn’t leave the bitter after-taste that other beers to do. Double IPA is not my favorite style, but I really liked this beer!

Pours hazy amber with fizzy white head. Aromas of pine, resin, citrus, and some floral notes. Flavor is all hops! Pine and citrus really stand out. Has a not to dry finish and is easily drinkable for 9%.
