Commercial Description:
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

This copper ale with tan foam is a robust beer full of chewy hoppiness and enough malt to almost balance but the scales still tip to the hop side. The Simcoe aroma is incredible loads of grapefruity tangerine piney almost catty .Some malt sweetness is discernible but not prevalent. My favorite from Weyerbacher

22oz - Golden liquid under nice thick tan head. Citrus on the nose, bitter blast of hops on plalate. This is a hop monster for sure.

Pours a nice thick head of very tan microbubbles into a tulip glass, giving a mildly opaque amber color to the beer. The aroma is pungent hops and caramel and the taste is mildly bitter with a decent mouthfeel and a hint of syruppy sweetness. This is a wonderful IPA to say the least.

Nice orange color. Great head, like a cloud sitting on top of your beer, that left a nice lacing throughout. Sweet citrus aroma. nice piney/citrus taste with a big bitter bite in the finish.

Bottle from Secret Santa - Slob. Dark orange with some brown hues. Awesome aroma. Some grapefruit, pineapple, and floral notes. Mostly bitter flavor up front with strong grapefruit and pine with some toasted malt backing and more subtle flavors of tropical fruit in the background. Very resiny with some puckering bitterness in the finish. Lingering dryness has a light spice quality to it as well. I really enjoyed the variety of flavors I got from this one. I would put something like this up against a San Diego IPA any day. I wish it was available out here.

Very light tan head and a murky ruby orange color. The aroma is syrupy thick toasted grains and almost smokey orange. It doesn’t have the sweetness you would expect from the aroma which is nice because the balance it achieves is from a pretty forward alchohol taste that does a great mingling with a strong but polite bittering. I mean, It kind of does it’s job and then backs off - so there is not an overpowering aftertaste. Had it in a snifter at 50+ deg. I think I like Dogfish 90 min better, but this is excellent.

bomber-pours a nice golden color with a thick off white head. Some sweetness followed by a disappearing bitterness. Smooth and easy to drink. Alcohol is well hidden for a 9% IIPA. I like the balance in this one. Nothing is overpowering to me. Definitely one to buy again. Great beer.
