head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is pineapple, tropical fruit juice. Taste is giant pineapple, citrus, mango- moves more towards spice, booze, and herbal hops. Great sheety lacing. Aftertaste moves to a big, long, bitter, resiny, alpha acid finish. Excellent. ansermadide (515), Kyle, Texas, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Bottle. I’ll confess that I’m not the biggest fan of Simcoe hops, which taste like nothing but grapefruit rind to me. Even if they didn’t name it, it would be obvious that that’s what they used. There’s a little bit of caramel warmth to the beer to help it out, and it is very well made for what it is. I didn’t dislike it, but I can’t quite gush over it, and won’t be seeking it out. mitchgt (12), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Sep 3, 2009 On tap at Stubby and Steins in Gainesville, FL. Poured an attractive cloudy orange with a persistent off-white head. Smelled citrusy (grapefruity) and clean. Big hoppy, bitter taste. Like a class of spruce needles. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 3, 2009 Clear orange/copper color with a fleeting head. Fresh cannabis bud aromas. Medium body. Big grapefruit piney hop bitter flavors on a thin caramel malt base - not near enough malt sweetness to balance the bitter hop flavors... Thanks Brad for this bottle. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Bottle at Dayton Ale Fest. Pours a nice copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is strong with citrus hops and a bit of sweet malts. Notes of grass, mango, grapefruit, and lemmon come out. On the palate it is crisp and refreshing. The flavor brings the malts forward a little, but really brings out a nice bitterness that goes through to the finish. I liked this one, but not my favorite Simcoe Hop beer. sridleyGTR (23), Golden, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2009 12 oz bottle served in Dogfish Head pint glass. Cloudy honey color with a thin off-white head, and light carbonation. Pine and pepper hop aromas over an iced tea backdrop. Creamy mouthfeel finishes a bit watery. Peppery with some sweetness up front, then pine flavors take over. The ABV is well-hidden. A single-sided IPA, but most excellent! I could drink this until gravity took over....
