Commercial Description:
This fantastic brew began its life as "Charlie", the third installment of the Brewer’s Select Series. It is now part of our seasonal lineup and will be released in the month of January. It is an intricate dark ale with a touch of smokiness. The rich malt flavor, crisp bitterness and smoke reach perfect equilibrium in this brew. At 7.5% abv, Fireside Ale will warm you up as the temperature drops.

Pours a dirty brown color with a thin pillowy head. Aroma is light smoke, some summer sausage, and a bit of dark fruit. Taste is much the same. All right.

Pours a rich mahogany color with thin wispy white head. Aroma is light smoke and ripe fruit, almost strawberry-esque. Taste is light smoke and tropical fruit punch. Overall, a tasty beer, but it’s no Aecht.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep, brilliant, reddish brown with a thick, initially pillowy, short-lived tan head that leaves many small spots of lace on the glass. The aroma is caramel/toffee/tangy malts with soft, rich smoke. The flavor starts grainy and malty with soft notes of spice and smoke and chewy sweetness. There is a lot of caramel with woody, earthy, peppery notes. Mid-palate has a medium bitterness from earthy hops and some smoke. The finish is full and creamy with some chocolate and caramel malts and subtle smoke. The mouthfeel is crisply carbonated with a subtle drying all over the tongue. It has a medium body and smooth texture. Overall, a decent beer, but lower in smoke than I had hoped and less complex. But on the flip-side of that: it’s straight-forward and drinkable.

12oz bottle from world of beer in tampa. deep brown pour with a small off-white head. interesting sweet and smokey aroma. tastes of caramel, dark chocolate and the mild smokiness. goes to a slightly metallic and woody finish. I’m not a huge smoked beer fan - so the subtle smoke flavors are nice. but overall the tastes seem a little confused.

Pours a very dark brown color, with a medium off tan head. Not as smoky as I was expecting in the nose, but it had some in there. Some malty and fuity notes in there as well. the flavor was also fairly smoky but not a smoke bomb. The aftertaste left a good bit of it on the palate. The dark malts and mild fruit character were somewhat present as well. Not a top notch smoked, but drinkable.

Beautiful dark brown pour with a thick beige head. Slightly metallic light smoky aroma. Nice lightly sweet flavor with a good hit of charcoal-y smoke on the aftertaste . Nothing special, but pretty solid.

12oz bottle. Brown-red color, slightly murky with a minimal head. Roasty, thick, and malty, with a solid smoked malt character. Some light hops way in the background which provide some crispness, but overall dominated by malty sweetness. Quite well done, a little deeper and refined than your typical smoked beer. Not overbearing smoke-wise, more fits into the grand scheme. A great beer.

Bottle via trade with Hopdog. Pours a dark brown with a quickly disappearing white head. Nose is distinctly malt and sweet fruitiness. There’s a tinge of caramel and touch of smoke. On taste, it’s actually a lot smokier and pretty well constructed. A bit fizzy in the mouth, malty brown ale base with a decent amount of hop bitterness. A touch nutty, and the campfire definitely jumps in and outlasts the other flavors. Pretty nice and well constructed. Decent.
