Commercial Description:
This fantastic brew began its life as "Charlie", the third installment of the Brewer’s Select Series. It is now part of our seasonal lineup and will be released in the month of January. It is an intricate dark ale with a touch of smokiness. The rich malt flavor, crisp bitterness and smoke reach perfect equilibrium in this brew. At 7.5% abv, Fireside Ale will warm you up as the temperature drops.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear mahogany in color with a thin but creamy off-white head. Aroma is light but full of smoked malts. Some light sweetness permeates the smoke near the end. Flavor begins with a surprising caramel malt note that gives way to a smooth and slightly smoked middle. The finish is more smoked malts mixing with some caramel malts. The smoke lingers for a while and turns a little bitter on the tongue.

Dark brown beer, significantly smokey. Above average mouthfeel. Not the most tasty smoked, but fairly decent.

16 oz. pint - $5.00 at Taco Mac in Canton, Georgia. Appearance: Arrives a clear, chestnut-hued body topped with an inch and a half of fizzy, off-white head. Thin curtains of lace on the way down. Smell: Light waft of smoked woodchips with a touch of fruitiness and a middling malt scent. Overall, it’s not nearly as expressive in the nose as it is in the taste. Taste: Seemly, mildly sweet malty mix of dark caramel, less roast, and even lesser chocolate powder wrapped in a restrained, clean, almost wholesome smoked wood flavor. Light earthy bitterness. Slight plum fruitiness throughout. Fireside does dry out considerably in the finish and leaves you with a lingering smoked-cocoa character. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Fairly nice! Remains quite drinkable while also delivering plenty of flavor, but not too much flavor, natch. We’re talking fireside, not burn ward.

Pours light mahogany into a stein. Off-white head with good retention recedes to coat surface leaving spot lacing. Sweet smoke aromas. Sweet with a bit of pumpkin upfront, turning smoky and sour in the lasting finish.

Smoked brews aren’t my favorite, but I thought I’d give this one a try. Pours a dark reddish brown, has a subtle smoked aroma and is not over powering smoked flavor, which is good. Not for everyone and I am one of those everyones. I’ll skip this one next time

Golden-brown with some chill haze. The aroma is smokey, nutty and a lightly chocolatey. Chewy malts are not very bright, but have a nice, soft caramel character nonetheless. The smoke is mellow, but keeps to the palate, never becoming understated. The earthy, chewy character continues through the finish with the smoke falling out slightly.

Light malt roastyness. Clear amber light brown with small tan head. Malty slightly floral slightly fruity. I didn’t get much smoke, just a hint. Medium body and mouthfeel. Very Good!
