| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Light chestnut color with thin head. Flavor was thin with mild smokiness but mostly a sweet bandaid flavor that I found rather unappealing (as if a bandair flavor could possibly be appealing!). Thank goodness I split the bottle with my dad and only had 6 oz. I usually like Weyerbacher, but this is a loser. sloth (1677), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2009 Appears..pretty damn cool. Very dark brown, clear in parts you can see through. The crown off white head is nice and lacey.
Scent is a hint of smoke over some of the darker malt scents. Very light alcohol scent, no sign of hops. I take that back, after several attempts, I can detect an earthy hop scent. Good, though with a smoked beer, it’s pretty black and white, either good, or too much.
Taste. MMM..this is actually damn good! Smoke hits you off the bat, but since I’m a seasoned veteran of smoked only being applied to porter, this was a pleasant surprise. There is definiately some malty action there but it reminded me more of a robust barleywine than any porter. Very good.
Mouth is medium bodied and medium/heavy carbonation. Good.
Very drinkable, and I wish I could remember where I got it so that I could pick up some more. A good beer indeed.
