Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate and smoke and a hint of nuttiness. It pours a hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. The flavor start with chocolate and caramel. The finish has some faint fruit and just a hint of smoke. Light bodied with very light carbonation. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Bottle. Appears a clear light brown with a wispy head. Aroma has toasted bread, raisins and grilled wood. Palate is on the thin side, with a lingering finish. Flavor is smoky and dark malt primarily, reminding me of a smoky-sweet brown ale. Altogether, however, this is a pretty tame smoked ale without enough complexity in the body to leave much of an impression. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2009 Decent sized light brown head of fine bubbles. Weak aroma with a bit of smoke and some sweet malts. Not very strong and not much in there. Color is a very dark copper brown. Zippy mouthfeel. Light toasted malts, tea leaves, smoked grains and a bit of dry hops. A hint of sourness also. Noticable alcohol warming but you really don’t taste it much. Finishes roasty and tangy witha light lingering smokiness. An ok brew.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2009 Nice dark chestnut brown color and thick tan head. No real smokiness in the aroma. Malt and subtle smokiness in the taste. It leaves you wanting more smoke but has a decent lingering finish.
