Commercial Description:
This fantastic brew began its life as "Charlie", the third installment of the Brewer’s Select Series. It is now part of our seasonal lineup and will be released in the month of January. It is an intricate dark ale with a touch of smokiness. The rich malt flavor, crisp bitterness and smoke reach perfect equilibrium in this brew. At 7.5% abv, Fireside Ale will warm you up as the temperature drops.

The aroma is sweet and malty first and smokey second which I like. It’s also got a touch of fruitiness. The appearance is mahogany with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it is a good smoke to me but smoke lovers will not think highly of it.

Two bottles (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus & biegaman -- courtesy of me & HogTownHarry. Pours a clear orange-ruby with an average size off-white head. Aroma of malt, smoke and a hint of chocolate. Flavour’s the same, malty and smoky, a bit toasty too. Average bodied. Pretty good.

Rusty brown with a trace of off-white head. Aroma is caramel with a whiff of copper. Taste is "brown", and somewhat worty, with lingering bicarbonate, and slightly metallic hop bitterness in the finish, $2/12

Bottle. Orange / brown color with a white head on it. Smell is smokey and really thats about all I get from it. Taste is rich and not overly smokey, but again, there isnt much to taste here. Smoke beers suck most of the time, and this one is really no exception. They taste like firewood. I have some charcoal in my garage, I think next time I will go eat that instead of drinking a smoked beer - unless its Alaskan Smoked Porter. mmm

Sampled as Charlie from growler. A bit light in body with hines of peet and smoke. A little earthy with some grain. Taste is light with some smoked malts and nuts. Drinkable, not too heavy on the smoke for me.

Bottle. Pours a brownish red with a thin white head. Smoked meat and malt aroma, not overpowering. Nice malt body with a good amount of smokiness and malt sweetness. Very nice balance of smoke and malt that makes this very easy to drink.

Bottle Pours a nice brown with a diminishing off white head. The heads laces well. Has a good smokey aroma. Roasted nuts and malts dominate the nose. Has a good flavor of smokeiness. A good amount of carbination and a good mouthfeel. Has a medium body and dances on the tongue. Has a smokey solid finish. This is a perfect seasonal, brewed to warm the soul. Very well done.
