Commercial Description:
To honor 14 years of making craft beer we decided to brew a wheat wine. This unfiltered brew is made with over 50% wheat to give it a distinctly spicy character. Enjoy it now, or if you have the patience, give it some time in your cellar. When you are ready, expect to find notes of tart wheat and honey with crisp bitterness and carbonation. Recipe by Head Brewer Chris Wilson and Brewer Jeff Musselman.

Bottle courtesy of blutt59. Light orange pour. Some sweet malts on the smell with bready notes. Taste has some bitter high grain. Finishes like a fat sweet loaf of yeasty bread.

12 oz bottle-Cloudy golden pour w/a slight white head. Sweet wheat aroma. Ramped up Whit, flavors of wheat, candied sugar, raisens, white grapes, banana, dried fruit, & colander. Very sweet & pretty hot, so this one is a definite sipper, but it was quite good. Long, full finish. I really think it is a crime to call these Wheat Wines Barleywines; they are really just totally different to me. I feel they need their own category as I’d like to be able to more closely track them.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a fading white head over a hazy golden body. Aroma of cherry, raisins, caramel and alcohol. Taste is alcohol, cherry, sherry and hot, hot, hot with alcohol. Creamy and big mouthfeel. Needs some time to mellow.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a large orange-beige head. The aroma was sweet, sugary and very fruity with notes of strawberry, apple and caramel. The flavor was strongly sugary with strong notes of apple, pineapple, citrus and candied ginger and light undertones of dry spices. There was a whole lot going on with this one and flavors really cascaded as the flavors lingered on the finish. The body was thick and full. Some alcohol did show through. Awesome.

Rich banana and lemon nose. Orange amorphous pour with floating chunks, no head. Full bodied, alcohol evident. Banana and orange flavor, Triple Sec at midpalate, lemon grass finish. Neat transitions. A bit too volatile.

This beer pours a hazy dark orange-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt, wheat and a touch of spice. Medium, clean body with flavors of malt, wheat, spices and grassy hops. The finish is wheaty with a lingering malt and nut aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pours a cloudy light amber into the glass, with a soapy eggshell head that diminishes to a thin ring, leaving light spiderweb lace. To the nose, I get Christmas spices, banana and yeast... reminiscent of a spiced banana bread. Sweet malt (just this side of candied) hits upfront, with a lightly retentive alcohol burn to the side-palate. It’s mostly sweet honey grains, bananas and spices, save for an attempt at doughy yeast toward the mid-palate (albeit muddy). The finish simply closes on an alcoholic burn. Not the most complex brew I’ve had, but with a round mouthfeel and syrupy texture, it drinks ok for a heavy brew.
