Commercial Description:
To honor 14 years of making craft beer we decided to brew a wheat wine. This unfiltered brew is made with over 50% wheat to give it a distinctly spicy character. Enjoy it now, or if you have the patience, give it some time in your cellar. When you are ready, expect to find notes of tart wheat and honey with crisp bitterness and carbonation. Recipe by Head Brewer Chris Wilson and Brewer Jeff Musselman.

Pours hazy light amber with a smallish off white head. Aroma is full of banana and fruity yeasty notes. Flavor is big semisweet and malty, with lots of banana and slightly tart tropical fruit flavors. Nice.

12 oz bottle. This beer poured a semi-orange color with an extremely small head that vanished pretty quickly. Aroma is sweet with minimal notes of banana, honey, and alcohol. Flavor is not as alcohol fueled as I had initially expected it might be. For nearly 12%, the alcohol is masked quite well.

Medium reddish orange pour with some whispy white head. Very estery bubblegum nose. Flavor is sweet, banana, bubble gum, light alcohol burn. Medium mouthfeel with alcohol finish. A bit too unbalanced and sweet for me, but certainly not terrible.

Bottle. Aroma is banana, wheaty....if that’s a word..and candied yeast. Pours a nice hazen bronze with a nice cap. Flavor is reflective of its nose, banana wheat bread with a tinge of sugar to it. Palate is nice medium fullness yet dry and slightly sweet. Overall I like it, hometown bias I guess but it’ll be something that in time will sit nicely as theres plenty of alcohol left to mature.

12 oz – The Wine Source. Dark hazed amber, creamy white head. Soft candied fuzzy fruit and banana aromas warm to a light yeasty peppered tone. Sweet fruity flavors round with touch of caramel and hop bitterness. ABV shines quite bright. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, drying bittersweet finish. As I have enjoyed most of Weyerbacher’s Anniversary Series, this one is a big swing and a miss…

Pours a hazy orange with a medium creamy off white head that laced. Aroma of banana, prunes, bubblegum, light peppery notes, spicy yeast esters and some light caramel sweetness. Flavor of banana, some clove, dark fruits, toasted malt, some caramel, light alcohol notes, body isn’t as chewy and sweet as I was expecting (prob because of wheat), some moderate hop bitterness and light roasted nuts. Not sure which yeast they used but I’m getting lots of banana and other spicy/fruity yeast esters.

Unclear orange with a tiny beige head. Sweet fruity aroma with malty and mild hoppy notes. Sweet flavour that went the same way. Bitter and strong finish that gave it warming alcohol.
