| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2009 12oz bottle. Small off-white head atop cloudy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, peach, alcohol/vinous, caramel, light spicy. Taste is sweet, alcohol, wheat, some cherry, vinous, banana, caramel. Full body with wheaty creaminess. As it is, it’s not bad, but if it didn’t have the booziness, it would be a winner. hopdog (5601), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2009 12oz bottle. Poured a medium and cloudy amberish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of bananas, fruity, cloves/spices, wheatiness, and candi sugar. Tastes of bananas, wheaty (more than the aromas), spiciness, and candi sugar. Medium alcohol in the finish. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 19, 2009 Pours a hazy orange bronze with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of rich sweet malted wheat and light fruity esters. Starts with a fairly heavy fullness and rich malty sweetness with some caramel sugar and plenty of light fruity notes. Finishes semi-sweet with lots of lingering warmth and a touch of fusels. I don’t know what it is with the higher abv Weyerbacher beers, but they don’t seem to hide their alcohol as well as they could. hopscotch (5490), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Bottle… Murky dirty-orange ale with a compact, creamy, off-white head. Great retention. The bouquet is fruity and tangy with spicy Belgian notes – clove, lemon grass, pear and apricot. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and mellow carbonation. Fruity and sweet; boozy and spicy; moderately bitter and mildly acidic. Tangy, bittersweet finish. There’s a lot going on here – not all of it good. Not bad either.
