Commercial Description:
Foxtrot is an exceedingly complex ale brewed with six types of malt, two hop varieties, and one flavorful yeast strain. This dark, unfiltered concoction has upfront notes of molasses and white pepper, a middle filled with a roastiness reminiscent of iced coffee, and a finish layered with a light fruitiness and the delicate flavor of Saaz hops. Recipe by cellerman, Dan Hitchcock. Dark Biere de Garde.

Growler from Superstar Beverage - deep dark amber BdG, with a frothy, lasting head - the aroma has some bubblegum and clove phenols, as well as chocolate, cherries, light wheat, mild tartness, cardamom, and spicy/peppery character - the flavor floats somewhere in between weizenbock and dark, spiced BdG - the flavor is a bit tart and wheaty up front, with some clove and other wheat beer-like character - after this, a complex and warming mixture of dry spices (cardamom, nutmeg, etc.) - a touch of sweetness arrives late, with flavors of chocolate and fruity character along with it - finish remains spiced, and adds a kick of white pepper - I didn’t think I would be impressed by this beer, but I am.

Pours a translucent brownish amber with a smaller bubbly off white head that laced. Aroma of peppery notes, banana, toffee, toasted malt, earthy, floral and lots of spicy yeast esters. Flavor of the same. A little thin. But still well done.

Bottle Pours Murky brown with a big light tan head. The head is foamy and lasting. Has a good aroma of malts and pepper. I got a little molasses but very subtle. Has a decent carbonation. The mouthfeel is good. Flavor is balanced very well not too much hops or malts. Has a good sweetness. Has a medium body and a texture this is a little heavier than watery. Has a good strong finish and a great aftertaste. This is a real good beer.

Draft. Nice dark brown body with nice head. Light aroma of spice, chocolate and brown sugar. Flavor has a light fruit character - cranberry, light chocolate, brown sugar and yeast. A very interesting concoction.

Dark brown with a small head. Aroma like a Malta with some spice, pretty nice actually. Taste is sweet with some bubble gum and spice. Some earthyness and nice carbonation. Close to a saison. Nicely done.
