Clear amber body is topped by a tall almond head. Lots of sticky lace is left on the glass. Aroma is citrusy and grassy hops with a hint of toasted caramel. Taste features leafy and and earthy hop bitterness. Caramel malt sweetness is barely noticed and struggles to balance. Very bitter hoppiness, epsecially into the aftertaste. A solid American IPA.

Bottle ( 12oz ). Clear bright refractive amber, large foamy-fizzy lasting beige head. Nice lush grain and dried leaf bitterness - smells like fall. The taste is a bit ESB-ish - malty, dry (hint of metallic acidity), light, increasing resin bitterness - a little more alcohol than in the nose. Light, dry and bitter mouthfeel, quick finish. A bit light, but crisp.

Mild hoppy aroma. Hazy orange color with a small white head. Short sweet beginning quickly turning moderately bitter and fading slowly in the finish. Real mild chewy palate.

Clear copper with a frothy sticky white head. Fresh hop aroma, a bit spicy, grassy, and citrusy. Caramel really comes through in the flavor. It works decently with the spicy hops. Body is a tad thin.

Prickly pear aroma, very malty, sweet with a touch of sweet funky apple. Nice amber in color with a lovely head. Caramel and apples dominate the flavor with some resin at the swallow. Not my favorite.

20091014 12oz bottle from State Line. Medium amber, small beige head. Aroma is shortbread, honey, leather, and BO. Not a particularly inviting combination. First sip is a thick mouthful, hefty bodied stuff with sticky malts and coating sweetness. Seems under-attenuated to me, but what the hell do I know I’m no brewer. Diacetyl aromas intensify with temp and merge into flavor. Some dank, sulfurous, and cardboardy flavors dominate, but in the end some sharp bitterness makes a noble attempt to bring it together. Lingering metallic aftertaste emerges along with some alcoholic astringency. An unfortunate mess as I had high hopes for a PA beer brewed with local hops.

(draft @ Monty’s Korner - Rochester, NY) Copper pour with a creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet and caramelly with a nice hint of dry grains and some bitter hops. Flavor is smooth and sweet at the beginning with a nice caramel flavor that gives way to a mildly bitter but rather floral hop middle. Finishes bitter and lingers for a long time.

Bottle. Pours clear copper with a nice head. The aroma is wet and dank, but not as strong as Sierra Nevada Harvest, for instance. The flavor is juicy with lots of citrus, pine, and melon. This is not very bitter considering. Emphasis is on melon, grass, and peach. This reminds me of a juicier Sweetwater 420.
