| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2005 Harrisburg Beer Festival 2... Draft... Best wheat beer at the festival, IMO. I like it for all the reasons that Hefe fans wouldn’t. Less spice, fewer esters. More nondescript than most German wheats. Refreshing, crisp, Summer brew. If this sounds like your cup of tea, buy it. If you want a more authentic German wheat, avoid it. ’nuff said. willblake (2187), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Didn’t even know there was sucha thing until I saw it on the shelf at SuperSaver. And for the record, a hefeweizen in a bomber is a stupid idea because even in my half liter Schneider Weisse glass I can’t fit all the beer and thus can pour in all the hefe-junk from the bottom of the bottle. Anyway...Clouded yellow-gold with tall tan head (not white?) and minimal lacing. Aroma is wheaty, very cloveish, rotten banana, pretty weak, though, and dominated by the clove. Light palate and somewhat dry finish make for a brightly wheat forward refresher. Light toastiness to the grain. Something oddly vegetal. All around, it’s palatable, but nothing I’d ever, EVER buy again. hopdog (5611), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 19, 2005 Bottle courtesy of EDA at egadzis Tripel fest (yes I know it is not a tripel and I should have heeded everyone’s warning not to waste my time on this one). Poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves and a little bit skunky. Wheat in the tastes as well. Thin body. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 19, 2005 Bottle from EDA. Hazy, deep golden in color with a tan head. Malty, and sour aroma. Hints of banana and clove in the aroma. Malty and banana flavor. Sour tasting. Ok. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 19, 2005 Bottle from EDA at the Tripel celebration. Beer # 2. Cloudy, deep golden, white head. Malty, slightly sour aroma with hints of clove. Malty slightly sour flavor with banana. Soy sauce and cabbage. Not sure what this is supposed to be. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 11, 2005 22 oz Bomber. An ok hefeweizen, but for Weyerbacher that is a disappointmant. As a friend pointed out, everything they make is great. This, unfortunately, does not foot the bill. Nowhere near as good as Triumph’s Hefe that I recently had. As it warms it gets more palatable, however. The initial sip was not that desirable. Lots of head. TheBeerGod (3167), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 1, 2005 Bottle at Bier Garden in Portsmouth on 4-30-05. Pours clouded amber with a small white head. Nose is fruity and wheaty with big tangerine notes and light lemon. Thinner honey and yeast come through at times as well. Odd for a hefeweizen. Taste is sweet and yeasty. Wheat notes, dried fruit, light cotton candy, and spices also make their way through. Body is light-medium with minimal carbonation feel. Finishes with citrus fruits notes, light spice, yeast, candyish notes at times and more wheat. Not too bad.
