Commercial Description:
Crisp and refreshing, light and flavorful, Weyerbacher HefeWeizen is a fantastic summertime quencher and the perfect companion for almost any food. The beautiful translucent gold color together with a hint of banana and cloves in the nose tells you this is a beer true to the Bavarian style. We brew it with 50% wheat malt and bottle it unfiltered, so you’ll notice great body and a smooth, slightly nutty flavor. The finish is light and refreshing.

Cloudy orange appearance with a large, white head. Aroma provided a nice blend of wheat, banana and clove, none of which was overpowering. Medium-bodied mouthfeel that was crisp and smooth. All the characteristics of a competently made German style hefe.

Royal Stumble. Total drainpour. Funky orange color with out any real wheat taste. Light aroma and funky acidic taste.

On draft at Johnny Brendas. Another fine example of a true german style hefeweizen brewed in America. Thumbs up! Rerated 7/1/05 - Draft at Johnny Brendas - huge banana presence, absolutely delicious

Poured a hazy orange gold color with a small white head, but no lacing. Aroma of banana, wheat, citrus, and yeast. Bland taste of citrus orange, wheat, yeast, and light hops.

I like Weyerbacher brews. This one is a solid hefe, with good citrus, yeast, and wheat aroma, and a smooth, crisp finish.

Crystal golden in colour with tons of small bubbles-no head at all. Aroma of wheat and a bit of spices. Medium-bodied; Harsh astringent taste-not very pleasant. Aftertaste bittered from the medicinal taste. Overall, a very rare beer to try-but the bad results were expected as they haven't made this bottle in a long time! I found this twelve ounce bottle at R.F.D. in Washington and it is probably one of the last places to find this one. I sampled this beer on 28-November-2003.

Bottle at RFD in Washington, D.C. Old bottle. Cloudy yellow, very cloudy. Not much of a head. Faint taste and somewhat watered down. Decent balance and somewhat well bodied. Not bad, but probably much better when it is fresh.

Cask at the Grey Lodge in Phila. Smelled like a Hefe. Had a faint taste of a hefe. Way too cloudy and chunky for me.
