Commercial Description:
This is an incredibly intriguing ale is made by aging our Old Heathen Imperial Stout in oak barrels that were used for making fine Kentucky bourbon! The result is an extraordinary, dark, and mysterious stout whose very essence has been enhanced. The aroma is filled with vanilla, cocoa, and roasted coffee beans. This silky-smooth brew has notes of oak, whiskey, roasted barley and vanilla that meld together on the tongue to create an incredible sensation. Heresy is released in February.

650 ml. Opaque with a small and lasting head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, oat, coffee, and slight whiskey. Flavors of vanilla, whiskey, chocolate, caramel, oats and some light dried wood that seems more like hickory. Medium-heavy body is silky smooth and has some alcohol warming.

Bomber 08’. Black pour with thick brown or coffee color head. Coffee, chocolate, and wood in the nose. Thick in the mouth oily and flavorful. Roasted malts and bitter sweetness. Solid imperial but theres more out there...

Black pour. The slight penetration of red in center. Aromas of milk chocolate and oak woodiness. An ineresting beer, Thin mouthfeel but silky and flavorful. Burnt malts, sweet dark fruits, end is alcohol and more burnt notes. Not a front runner in the style, but a solid and interesting example

Kinda blah. Best part is the appearance - thick head and heavy carbonation. Smooth and not as strong - thin mouthfeel for an IRS. Flavor is pretty mild - roasted malt more than anything.

Bottle: Nice malt aroma, a black hole, no light gets out. flavor is sweet nice blend of malt and hops, heavy, smooth finish. I am really liking most everything from Weyerbacher... This is not as oaky as some other oak stounts I’ve tried... good brew.

bomber from a trade with funknmilla. pours black with a fizzy tan head. the head stays with it the futhur into the bomber i get. aromas of coffee, oak barrel, chocolate and alcohol. the flavours progress in the following fashion; at first quite sweet with some caramel, chocolate and vanilla, then the oakiness shows up. this kind of lingers into a coffee type of finish. if there was a nice hop bite on the end of this id really dig it. a good impy but not my fav. thx funknmilla!
