Nov 8, 2007 This beer has a dark black color to it with a nice golden brown head. the aroma is very strong containing mainly coffee and roasted malt there is also some dark candy hints as well. As you drink the beer there is an nice initial flavor of mocha as well as some nice hints of toffee. The booze is not masked that well in this beer, but there is a tang flavor as well as the oak which makes up for it. the palate has a nice smokey and coffee finish to it which lasts for a decent amount of time.

Nov 8, 2007 Pours a real oily black color with a nose of coffee, wood, vanilla and some roastedness. Flavor has some bourbon but not overwhelming, chocolate, coffee with the alcohol peeking slightly.Finished off smooth with no bitterness.

Nov 7, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours black with small tan head. The aroma is roasty coffe, some chocolate, and noticeable bourbon. The flavor is slight coffee at first, then BAM, bourbon in my face. A mellow roastiness sneaks in, as do some chocolate and raisin notes. The finish is dry and very, very oaky, leaving vanilla and dryness in the aftertaste. Ok, but the bourbon is overdone.

Nov 6, 2007 Bottle: pours pitch black with a thick tan head, aroma of coffee, taste of coffee and vanilla, a bit bitter on the initial tast but smooth finish. Not too bad.

Nov 3, 2007 Bottle via trade with JCB (I think...). Interesting aroma. Almost like an alcoholic shake. Vanilla, some wood and alcohol. Chocolate. Lots of milk chocolate and cocoa. Nesquik. Pours black with a reddish brown head. Not too much in the way of lacing. Flavor has lots of dry roasted chocolate malt. Cocoa powder. Not a lot of wood influence. Just a bit of vanilla from the wood tannin. Medium, bordering on full bodied. Pretty good.

Nov 1, 2007 Bottle from Slob - Thanks! Pours near black with a smaller brown head. Nose is oaky and sweet, some coffee and choclate too. Taste is sweeter than expected with vanilla playing a prominant role. Some cocoa and roast follow with a bit more of that oaky, barrel aged quality. Retains a little bitterness in the tail.

Nov 1, 2007 Bottle@Home. Coffee with milk aroma. Black color, light brown head, good lace. Sweet, milky, coffee, blackcurrant, vanilla. Soft mouthfeel. Not too complex but wonderfully pleasant.

Oct 28, 2007 Bottled. Dark color, medium brown head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolat, reminding of Narke Kaggen actually, bit milky, roasted malt. Taste of chocolat, malt, some vanilla. D-licious!
