| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2007 This beer pours as dark as I’ve ever seen and has a thick dark head to match. However, instead of looking black like many dark beers it is more of a rich, deep, dark, thick, brown. The head is thick and will stick around for a while. This beer has a very malty aroma with hints of roasty coffee. The beer has a sweet malty flavor to match its smell, but has a slightly bitter aftertaste. The beer has a medium body, with a creamy texture, and a lively fiz. While this beers appearance is probably its best feature, it is a pretty solid drinking beer as well. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a strong imperial stout in a big bottle. rocbyter (921), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 1, 2007 Sents of oak and something close to windex, in a good way. Dark reddish brown close with a brown head. Starts slighly sweet finishing with a oaky scotch bite that lingers. DrD (61), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 28, 2007 I was really surprised by how thin this beer is; though it’s smooth, the palate isn’t anything to get randy over...and it’s not going to warm you up on a cold winter night...but man oh man is the flavor a drool-fest...caramel, smoke, oak, vanilla, cotton candy, pipe tobacco, butter brittle, fresh Blue Mountain coffee, rainwater trickling through a dense redwood forest, Sugar Daddy...it’s all there...just roll it on your tongue before you slide it down.... | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2007 Bottle. Pours a rich black color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The alcohol is nicely hidden in the woody, earthy taste. The flavor of vanilla and brandy race across my tongue as a hint of hops come in on the finish. Smooth and well balanced. Over all a good barrel aged stout. POD (198), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 26, 2007 Bomber as pictured. Nice dark brown pour with tan head. Aroma was malt and wood. Flavor was bitter chocolate, alcohol, malt and bitter hops. Flavor grew sweeter as it warmed. Once it warmed, flavors became more distinguishable. However, this imperial lacks boldness in character in the form of that would come from aging the fruits and spices more. All in all this was enjoyable and I would drink it again. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Pours dark brown with a healthy amount of carbonation and a rapidly dissipating brown head. Smells of bourbon, oak, sherry, cherries, dark malt and pepper. Tastes boozy with some tartness. As the beer warms, flavors of chocolate, spices and tealike hops emerge. Some mocha and bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is tarte and full. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
