Poured with an off-white to light tan head and a bit of lace. Opaque brown. Heavy dark chocolate aroma rounded out with coffee, toffee, caramel, malt, barest hint of hop. Flavor’s similar. Body is good- natural carbonation, decent mouth. finish is easy. Session beer but for the sneaky alcohol. sinkr (219), Lusby, Maryland, USA

Aroma of caramel, coffee, and toffee. The body is full and the is texture creamy. The flavor’s duration average and is moderately sweet. I am more than pleased with most Weyerbacher beers. Chocolate, some wood, very nice aroma. Very smooth, I’m getting alot of oak in this one, somewhat dry, with a little bit of dark chocolate, pretty darn tasty. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2009 Very nice black beer with a frothy brown head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and alcohol. Fairly strong bourbon like alcohol flavor that fades with time. Nice layer of chocolate underneath. Smooth for the most part with a slight alcohol burn at the end. Little more than medium bodied and warms nicely. Very enjoyable beer. thelizard (28), Canton, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 4, 2009 On bottle at The Beer Engine. Poured an incredible black with a light brown head. Gave off a delightful, malty head. We actually sniffed the beer for a few minutes before we even sipped it. Taste was full-on malt, toffee, and caramel. Terrific aftertaste as well. Highly recommended. nerdrocker101 (102), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2009 Bottle. Appearance: Pours jet black with just a trace of tan head. Aroma: Roasted coffee with a hint of whiskey on the nose. Flavor: Bitter chocolate, coffee and a touch of vanilla and oak flavors. I think the whiskey is lost on me. Palate: Medium-full body with an oily mouth feel. Easy drinker. Very nice overall. fata2683 (877), Panama City, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 30, 2009 bottle, pours black, medium tan head. Molassis and coffee nose with a faint hint of oak. Sweet hot coco with marshmellow flavors mixed with a little bit of expresso bitterness. Actually quite nice, with some vanilla in the finish with a tiny bit of wood. I don’t get much of the whiskey in the flavors, more of a lightly bitter sweet stout. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Pours near black with a smaller brown head. Nose is oaky and sweet, some coffee and choclate too. Taste is sweeter than expected with vanilla playing a prominant role. Some cocoa and roast follow with a bit more of that oaky, barrel aged quality. Retains a little bitterness in the tail.
