| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 29, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber/orange with brown, red, and dark gold highlights and a medium-thin offwhite head. The aroma is very grassy and herbal with a distinct dark caramel malt note (caramel and toffee). The flavor starts quite malty with dark crystal qualities (toast, toffee, raw tobacco) and a sharp, spicy, herbal hoppiness. The hops coat the tongue and are big and bitter by mid-palate and finish. Mid-palate reveals some fruit, subtle yeast character, and grassy and grapefruity hop bitterness and flavor. The finish is dry and sharp with a slight earthy/herbal (almost stinky cheese) hop funk, a strong bitterness, and a light breadiness. The mouthfeel is full and slippery but is greatly lightened by suds and the drying sensation that coats the tongue from the big bitterness. Overall, an interesting IPA I suppose, but not a favorite. hoplover (166), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA

The aroma is nice with hop spice and citrus but the flavor is bad CARDBOARD! Man I wish I had a good bottle. Jabswitch (215), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Lots of hoppy bitterness, but not much else. Just not a heck of a lot of flavor for the price. movezig (137), Pensacola, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Not a lot of hops infusion in this one which is what I was expecting. For lighter fruit and medium malt character. Hops were just in the nose for the most part. Still a good IPA just not a favorite. GodOfThunder (878), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 16, 2008 On draft at Redlight. Pours the typical amber IPA color with a sticky white head. I get a lot of sugar and pine in the smell. The taste isn’t as strong as the smell would indicate. A lot of good sour grapefruit on the back end. Good stuff. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2008 On draft @ Redlight. Brown-orange color with a moderate thick white head. Sweeter malts and earthy hops on the aroma. Sharper citrus on the taste, nice finish. Decent overall. CharlesDarwin (1849), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 12, 2008 12oz Bottle. Aroma cusps a catty, plant-like hop heavy run. A touch stale and grassy. Pours an orange-amber, slightly murky, with a tall crisp foamy off-white head. Flavor is dense, but scattered. Some lemon-cat Simcoe-like approach, a bit of onion skin and some harsh brash pine flavor. The hpps seem unbalanced here, fading into unabashed bitterness. There some cleanliness too it, but I’m not jiving on the flavor. The malt doesn’t hold up. Meh. BeerBelcher (945), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Hazy and thick, with not a lot of head as it came out of the bottle. "There’s so much hop oil in this beer that it doesn’t even look like beer," I thought to myself. But sadly, this prediction proved to be a disappointing falsehood. This beer really didn’t strike me as a all that hoppy...at least not in a way I could really enjoy. Aroma was dry and pine-y, but not really all that pungently hoppy. Flavor is also very dry, a bit pine-y, and very dryly bitter. Not much else going on here though. Not a lot of malt or other flavors. Mouthfeel is good, not too sticky.
I’d weakly recommend this.
