Commercial Description:
Hops Infusion exhibits deep malt characteristics- this beer has undeniable character and body. Glowing a deep amber color, Hops Infusion is brewed with seven types of hops. The result is unmistakable-- hop-heavenly flavor with earthy, spicy, sharp citrus notes. Hops Infusion has four times the dry-hopping as our already hoppy IPA.

Bottle. Pours semi-cloudy light amber color with a foamy white head. The aroma is Quite yeasty with notes of flour and sharp grapefruit scents. This brew is definitely hoppy, but it seems a little muddled. Some chalky notes are noted along with grapefruit. The caramel is not all that prominent, it makes the beer seem thinner. The whole thing just seems rough around the edges. Also, I think it could be hoppier if that’s what they’re going for. A final observation though, halfway through the glass this starts to grow on me more with a green tea character and a building, drying finish.

From a 12 oz. bottle with no freshness date. Poured a cloudy orangey amber with a foamy, fluffy head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing, small amount of ringed lacing. Hoppy aroma, citric, a soft pine, earthy, spicy and dry, oily with a touch of maltiness that is very much in the background. Moderate carbonation overall and a crisp, dryish, smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Like in the aroma, the hops dominate, citric, oily, an earthy, spicy herbalness, a subtle floral, a soft dry leafiness, the malts are very subdued, a light grainy with a little sweetness and a dryish hoppy finish. This is a hopped up IPA, but not a tongue number, the thinness of the malts to me is a drawback, but still quaffable, something I might spend a night with every 3 to 6 months, but not regularly.

Sampled with Stegosaurus and Beerded_one at Newtown Beerfest. Nice copper pour with yellowish head. Good hop aroma (not over done) Good hop taste not complex but its blended just right. Good brew.

12 oz. bottle via trade with Ty5592 - Pours a clear reddish-amber color with a nice size off white head. Lively carbonation. Light lacing. Has a nice grapefruit hop aroma. Flavor is also mainly citrus hops. There’s a little caramel malt in the background. Very easy to drink with very little astringent after taste. Medium body. Thanks Ty.

12oz bottle (thanks to jah noth) pured a deep copper color with a nice sized off white head. The aroma was a big mix of hops with a spicey citrus and pine along with some caramel. The taste had an agresive bitterness with a slightly grassy taste. Overall it was a good beer for having so much hops in it.

Great look (reddish amber with a nice head and lacing) and aroma (grapefruit and hops) to this beer. Mouthfeel is nice with a clean bitter finish. It’s not a top tier IPA but it’s very nice. I’ll need to do a re-rate soon because I’ve had 6 or 10 of these previously and I’m liking it more than I remember. Re-rate: I bought another case of this and it definitely has a more sour taste then I remember. Not sure what’s going on with this stuff. Busting it back.

12 oz. bottle from Shoreline. Drank on 8/22/06. Clear, copper, solid 1" rocky creamy off-white / light tan head. Drops quickly to a nice thick layer of foam that sticks around. Good lacing. Aroma - not too strong. Mostly fruity hops and a little candy-like sweetness - some orangy citrus. Flavor - Fairly bitter throughout. Balanced in the middle, but towards bitterness. Citrusy hop flavor in the finish along with some sweetness. Palate - solid medium. Good carb. Dry finish. Overall - This is an OK IPA. It’s well balanced and has good bitterness, but I’m just not crazy about the orangy citrus hop flavor and aroma. Good, but nothing great.
