This beer, as with most of the Weyerbacher products, reminds me of a west coast ale. This weyerbacher brewery is making some good products. calfaro (18), Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Bottled. Pours dark orange amber. Medium sized head. It has a very strong hoppy aroma (duh) with strong citrus notes. Almost smelled like grapefruit to me. The taste is refreshing but the aftertaste is a tad too bitter for my taste.
The head remained present until the last drop and there was tons of lacing. IMO a good choice for ocasional tastings but not an "everyday" drinkable beer. zebracakes (1215), Washington DC, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 5, 2006 Amber/orange in color with a modest head that left a ring of bubbles on the surface. Sweet, malty, grapefruit-like aroma... obviously predominantly a hoppy. Intense, unique hop flavor balanced by a malty background, citrus (grapefruit, lemon). Nice crisp mouthfeel with a very dry (and bitter) finish. Pretty awesome. BeerCommonSewr (67), North Carolina, USA

Aroma: Nice and hoppy like you want from an IPA with sweet citrus coming through nicely.
Appearance: Slightly murky dark orange which was quite pretty with an excellent rocky foamy head that laced and lingered very well.
Flavor: Lots of hops with a pop of orange peel that gave it nice balance. Quite tasty.
Palate: Finished like it tasted and slightly dry like you would expect with a beer of this high alcohol content.
Overall: A quality IPA that I would be willing to enjoy again and again. UNCCTF (465), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Bottled. Golden with a small white head. The flavor is packed with grapefruit and the hops are out of control - a very good IPA. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 31, 2006 Bottle. Clear orange with a frothy off white head, spotty lacing. Floral aroma of citrus hops, some pine and even a hint of bubblegum. Great hoppy flavor with all the components-grapefruit, pine, resin, tea. Medium palate with a fair amount of carbonation. Bitter, slightly astringent hop finish. The local distributor for some reason sells this for only $5.99 a six, which is by far the best bargain around. While there are better IPAs, this one definitely holds its own. gmstein (5), Cheshire, Connecticut, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 31, 2006 Hoppy and malty with a great aroma. This IPA is crisp and delicious, a great choice for the summer. Comparable to the Victory Hop Devil.
