I leaned in for a expecting to be bombarded with hops, but found little hops aroma coming off this one with the ’7 types of hops’. It’s definitely got a full malt flavor to it then a piney hops flavor. Very light citrus flavor but just for a second towards the end and then you’re left with a bitter hops after-taste. Not my kind of hops in this one. illinismitty (1799), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2006 Bottle, new label and recipe. Faint citrusy hop aroma, but equally malty. Pretty thin malt profile behind the dominating spicy and citrusy hop flavor. Finish has a hint of orange right before the dry, bitter, and earthy finish. Is there some Amarillo in this? Better than the original. This is a decent and hoppy beer, and I can see others digging this a little more than I. This recipe just does not meet my personal tastes for IPA. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2006 Red, with a huge white head. Eexceptionally piney, resiny aroma. Big notes of pine and caramel, battling it out to the very end. Better balanced than I anticipated. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2006 12 oz bottle: pours amber colored with whte fluffy head that lasts. Nice lacing. The aroma was full of pine, grapefruit, bit of spice, with sweet maltyness present. Lots of bitter flavors, mostly pine. medium body. A decent IPA not victory hop devil Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 6, 2006 I was really excited to find some weyerbacher in NC. they 4 different six-packs and picked this one. Problably the worst of the 4. This is totally pine hop aroma dominated. Flavor is more of the same and hugely bitter. The finish is everlasting bitterness. Wish it was more citrusy. upper-lower-middle class of IPAs. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2006 I believe this is the "new recipe" bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a big fluffy off-white head. Nice hop foward aroma of pine, citrus, and earthy notes. Flavor starts with caramel and turns to piney hops at the middle that grows into a big and long bitterness. The body finishes thin. Foxbush (462), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 29, 2006 This is milestone of tasting beers. This Hops Infusion is my 200th beer. The other Weyerbacher was Hersey which was outstanding. The beer poured with a big frothy head filling most of the glass. There was lacing and clear copper color. The gapefruit aroma and taste was immediately apparent. There was mediim bitterness and full body. This is an excellent experience. The hops do over power the beer. The finish had some lingering bitterness. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 22, 2006 Updated: Apr 29, 2008Amber/copper pour under a medium light tan head that subsides quickly, but leaves a nice lace. Hop dominant aroma of citrus with some floral notes. Pretty bitter right from the get go. Malt never gets a chance, but if you swirl around in your mouth for a while, you can pick up a faint sweetness. The astringency overpowers any attempt at fullness on the palate. Finishes very dry and bitter, leaving a metallic flavor that is quite persistent. Just too one dimensional.
