The Dan Journal #275. Tasted 7/11/09. 12oz bottle. Hazy with a deep amber hue. Layer and ring of off-white head. Mild aromas with hints of honey, bitter roots and spices. Light to medium bodied with mild hops. Bitter acidity. Caramel malts, but nothing to really back it up. Nothing special.

Dec 3, 2009 Bottle via coldbrewky. Hazy golden orange color with a tight white head. Some citrus hops in the aroma and bready malt. Flavor of hops stand out nicely with minimal sweetness. Hoppy mouthfeel lingers for a good while. Thanks bud!

Dec 1, 2009 (sample) Pours a golden color. Nose has somewhat heavy hoppy floral notes. Taste is a great hoppiness has a citrusy side to it. Mouthfeel has soft carbination a light body and a nice bitter finish.

Nov 24, 2009 Botte into pint glass. Slightly cloudy with a one finger head. Aroma was mildly hoppy with a definite grapefruit tone. Feels medium bodied in the mouth. Mild hops, but needs a little more malt to help the balance. Middle of the road beer, but not bad.

Nov 24, 2009 12oz - One finger of off-white head sits over a cloudy orange liquid. Solid but mild hops on nose. Some malt and a waxy hops hit on palate. Bitter finish missing the malt needed to balance it. The waxy hit really turned me off.

Nov 12, 2009 What a great beer. the pine note in this is just unbeleivable. I was waiting for the citus notes there is some but the pine. WOW. Pours amber in color with med head , the head leaves the glass pretty quick. This is a great beer. Drink up good job guys.

Nov 7, 2009 From a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours dark golden with an inch of thick foam. Minor but noticable lacing on the glass. Smell is of grapefruity hops. Mouthfeel is dead on, not too light but not too syrupy either. This beer is the most grapefruity hopped beer I’ve ever tasted. Usually there’s some pine or lemon or other citrus flavors mixed in, but this beer is straight grapefruit. There is malt that backs up the grapefruit hops but it’s just there for the mouthfeel and doesn’t come in for the taste. This is a very good beer. It’s got that good IPA hoppy skunk to it. The best way to describe it is half way between an IPA and an IIPA; call it an IPA+ with an entire grapefruit crammed in each bottle. Can’t wait to try the Double Simcoe!

Nov 4, 2009 Pours copper-orange with creamy off white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is hops and some maltiness. kinda hops and bread. The flavor is creamy, light, lacking.
