Commercial Description:
Brewed with Pumpkin and Spices(Cinnamon,Nutmeg,Cardamom,Cloves). This 8.0% ABV pumpkin ale is heartier, spicier, and more caramelly and pumpkiny than its faint brethren! Perfect finisher on a cool autumn night, or match it up with a slice of pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream. If you don't agree this is the mother of all pumpkin ales, then you just don't like mothers!

A Pumpkin Ale I enjoy tremendously because it tastes much more... well, pumpkiny than others of the style. Pours a cloudy orange-gold-brown with a thin pale disappearing head. Aroma is decently sweet and pumpkin pie-like with spicy nutmeg coming in at the end. Flavor is high on the pumpkin which I like very much, with the obvious spices coming through as well. The high a.b.v. lends itself well to being sweeter and more pumpkiny, but also makes for a heavier beer best drunk by the mouthful.

Cloudy red and orange hue, disappearing white head and no visible carbonation. Reminds me of a wee heavy in looks. Deliciously spicy aroma of cinnamon and pumpkin and even nutmeg. All laced over a big whiff of wheat. Any aroma of hops is buried under the aforementioned sweets. The flavor is extremely malted and butter pumpkin sweet but the lack of hops makes it syrupy. A thick palate on this beer. The malt and spice contains the 8% alcohol well. Overall this beer is too sweet to make it memorable.

Wow, first off, this beer is mostly flavored by its spices- the strongest being the cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. It has a power in it that is reserved for the rarest of beers. The pumpkin comes is subtly, actually, but that is not a fault. The worst part of this beer is that you have to drink it quickly, even though it’s difficult, because once it warms it turns into vegetal garbage water. *.99 per 12 oz bottle at Total Wine in Pembroke Pines.

This has a spicy pumpkin aroma, some nutmeg. This has a hefty amount of pumpkin though the finish is relatively light. Not strong it seems in alcohol. Good in small amounts but a whole bottle might be too much.

Poured a gorgeous deep ruby red/amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is pumpkin pie spice caramel and good rich malt. the flavor was surprisingly dry. Nutmeg was the dominant spice. This was a fantastic pumpkin ale in that it wasn’t cloyingly sweet or overbearing. Really nice pumpkin beer.

This looked, smelled and tasted about how I expected it to. Dark but clear amber-orange color, tons of sweet pumpkin, caramel and spices mixed with malt and hops. Bits of cinnamon and spices peppered throughout. A great representation of the style, just not really the style for me.

tasting via supergrowlerdave70...

cooked pumpkin pie color... go figure!... with a minimal off white head. VERY spicy aroma with cardamom coming to the front. cinnamon, nutmeg and grass are all noted as well. there is a vegetal earthy sweetness but not necessarily pumpkin in the background. the flavor is overly spiced... malty caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove are all there but get swallowed up by the cardamom. it tastes medicine-y with spice. pumpkin is faint. the finish is dry and mildly bitter. body is medium to full and a touch sticky.

someone should have told these guys that a little cardamom goes a long way. who puts it in pumpkin pie anyway? 6/3/4/3/9/2.5
