Commercial Description:
Brewed with Pumpkin and Spices(Cinnamon,Nutmeg,Cardamom,Cloves). This 8.0% ABV pumpkin ale is heartier, spicier, and more caramelly and pumpkiny than its faint brethren! Perfect finisher on a cool autumn night, or match it up with a slice of pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream. If you don't agree this is the mother of all pumpkin ales, then you just don't like mothers!

Pours orange red with a off-white head. Gorgeous nose with a ton of nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and pumpkin. More of the same on the flavor. Unfortunately the body is a bit lacking. Other than that, a solid beer.

Pours a dark orange amber with a small but full off-white head. Very pumpkin aroma along with cinnamon and other spicy scents. Smells like pumpkin pie even as I’m eating pumpkin pie. Taste is also over-riding pumpkin flavors along with nutmeg and cinnamon. Very herbal and quite delicious. Well balanced beer with powerful tastes.

Bottle. Average head with a dark amber color. Aromas of caramel, nutty, licorice, brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon were very nice - like Thanksgiving in a bottle. Texture was a bit thin and the carbonation was soft. Flavor short with a sweet touch. Not bad but I have had better pumpkin beers.

Bottle from VA. Orange with a small head. Aroma and taste of pumpkin, nutmeg, and cinnamon, but not spectacular over all.

(bottle) Cherry-amber beer with a creamy light brown head. The aroma has distinct notes of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and allspice. Spices come through in the flavor along with some sweet malty goodness. The end is slightly dry with a surprising bit of warming alcohol. A medium, creamy body. Maybe the best pumpkin ale I’ve had.

Pours a deep, clear reddish amber with a short-lived cream-colored head which recedes to a tiny ring with only a trace of lacing. It actually smells a good bit like pumpkin pie with a big dose of spices thrown in, mainly cinnamon, with sweet malt in the background. The taste is not quite as reminiscent of pumpkin pie to me with a hit of sugar and cinnamon up front before giving way to the malt background and pumpkin before finishing with a spicy kick that lingered for a while. The mouthfeel is good with lots of carbonation and a bit dry. I’ve only had a couple other pumpkin ales, but this one is the best. Very drinkable and another good offering from Weyerbacher.

On tap @ the OTH (Oldsmar Tap House). Pours deep clear copper with thin off white head. The aroma is spicy up front with a lining of pumpkin and some fruity esters. The taste is aggressive and bold with up front sugar sweet malts, prunes and dates followed by fresh out of the can pumpkin. As it progresses cinnamon and maybe nutmeg too grow in strength into the finish to help round out the experience. The dark fruitiness also holds on and then grows into the finish and after taste.

Very pleasant aroma that is light and spicy. Pours a clear red color with no head. Smooth, soft mouthfeel. Not a whole lot of pumkin flavor. Tastes like a Marzen with spices added to it. Alcohol is very well-hidden in both the aroma and flavor; never would have guessed 8%. Very smooth and drinkable, and if its flavor was intensified a bit, this would be very good.
