Warming, delectable aroma with lots of nutmeg, cinnamon, gourd with caramelly, brown sugary malts. Rich palate is boozy, not like overly alcoholic but with the stylish complexity of a fine spirit. Subtle but confident spicing. Lots of pumpkin in the background. It’s 88 F and I’m feeling like trick or treating. Gotta like a beer that evocative. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep copper orange color with a sparse off-white head. Moderate aroma of canned pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a certain muskiness that reminded me of funky dirty laundry. The taste is decent, with some nutmeg up front and a moderate pumpkin presence. Definitely in the back of the class as pumpkin beers go. SSSteve (2107), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 21, 2008 Pours a clear copper with little head. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg with some sweet vegetably notes. Flavor is full of fresh pumpkin pie goodness with not much evidence of the high ABV. The body is quite thin, though, and leaves something to be desired. Overall tasty but short in the richness and fulfillment category. I love pumpkin beers; this one is close to great. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2008 Initial thoughts: What’s the only thing worse than a pumpkin ale? An imperial pumpkin ale, of course!
All joking aside (kind of), on to the review. The body is a clear, deep, reddish-orange color. A small, frothy, beige colored head leaves behind soapy lacing that drips back into the body. Aromas include copious amounts of Autumn spices, everything from cinnamon and cardamom to nutmeg and, of course, tons of pumpkin. Flavors are equally aggressive, though a rather prominent caramel malt billing takes a bit of the spicy edge off. Medium-full and sticky on the palate, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves sting the tongue long after the swallow. This is certainly one of the better examples of this genre. Ultimately, though, its still a pumpkin beer, a style I have all but given up on as something that I will ever truly enjoy. juiceisloose (678), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Pours a deep orange color with a medium white head that left spotty lacing behind. The aroma is nice on this one with lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, with a hint of pumpkin. The flavor is big on spices as well with the cinnamon and nutmeg coming through with the pumpkin sweetness on the backend. Medium bodied with good carbonation and easy to drink with a lot of spice on the finish. I was hoping for a little more pumpkin flavor, but it was still good otherwise. I’ll be having more of this in the fall season. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Murky, dark copper pour with a thin white head. Spicy aroma which reminds me of wassail and a old fashioned candy store. Flavor is spice oriented with hints of pumpkin pie, cloves, cinnamon and wassail. Would be very nice on a cold winter’s night - maybe even try it heated. Mouthfeel is thickish and rich. One of the best pumpkin beers I have tried. Jblauvs (643), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Malty, well hopped and a subtle punmlin and spice aromas. Mouth is mellow malt, very natural, tasty, pumpkin, nothing fakey here. Cinnamon, nutmeg and other spices in the middle and a dry finish. the best pumpkin beer ive had by far. Mellow, not overdone, very drinkable.
