The aroma is solid nutmeg and a little malt. The flavor is mellow nutmeg, cinnamon, toasty malt, and a bit of a sweet finish. Ok, but not really down my alley. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Hoo-ahh, nice bomber on a rather blustery early autumn evening. Great pumpkin beer, really hits the senses and gets you all warm and cozy. Comfortable aroma of pumpkin, has a sweet airy perfume quality. Very spicy nose as well with nutmeg and cinnamon. Rich dark orange/copper color, thin head and moderate lacing. I drank this at a relatively cool 65 degrees, and the malt body really came off as filling and thick. Creamy and smooth the alcohol sneaks up on you. Real nice taste, the pumpkin is moderately sweet and wonderfully spiced. Coriander and a light tart lemon zest seem to compliment the darker cinnamon and nutmeg flavors. Real bready and chewy, I love the baked goodness that this beer provides. I picked the right night to enjoy this one. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 14, 2007 Poured a thick brown, carmel color into the dimpled mug. There was a quick finger of white head that disappeared rather quickly. The scent was of caramel, spice, nutmeg, pie crust and sugar. Up front are notes of cinnamon, pumpkin and nutmeg, with some malt, carmel and other spices appearing in the finish. My favorite pumpkin ale. emobassfoo (178), Webster, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 13, 2007 Rated while drinking: Pours a reddish amber with an enormous white fluffy head on top. Reeks of all-spice and cloves. A bit one dimensional on the nose but very very fragrant. Huge mouth of flavor. Not as overpowering in the sense that it’s overwhelming, but very complex overall. Mainly spices on the tongue, with pumpkin hitting the roof of the mouth and throat. Yum. Thick on the mouth but not sticky. Well done. Very nice offering from Weyerbacher. Definitely should be sought out. NachlamSie (1644), Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2007 Bomber shared at a little tasting. Pours amber with a small white head. The aroma is obviously spiced with heavy cinnamon and nutmeg and a bit of Belgian yeastiness going on. The flavor is not as rich as I had hoped. I envisioned a replication of pumpkin pie. This is kind of close, but much heavier on the spices. The finish lingers for a while with more nutmeg and cinnamon. After a few sips, the pumpkin character snowballs and becomes more apparent. It’s more similar to a fresh, whole slice of pumpkin than a candied flavor I associate with pumpkin pie. This was robust and interesting. I will probably never say this again about a beer, but I could have used more sweetness in this mix. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 13, 2007 bomber. above average creamy light khaki colored head that dimished but not fully. clear reddish brown body. aroma of pumpkin, and ight spices. alcohol was present as well. flavor is a bit underwhelming (not neccessarily a bad thing) and lightly sweet. most pumpkins that I have tried (which is not that many) tend to have a bit too much spices and less actual pumpkin, this does not have that problem. my favorite pumpkin so far. johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 13, 2007 Poured hazy orange with off white head. Aroma of pumpkins and cinnamon. Not as big of pumpkin flavors as the Southern Tier but solid. Had a cinnamon/spice finish. I liked this more than the Southern Tier. kegoguinness (45), Dodge City, Washington DC, USA

Actually, I tasted little to no pumpkin whatsoever. The amount of spices was beautifully muted like my ears after a concert at the Black Cat. This is a fantastic beer which is so much the better for not tasting like mom’s thanksgiving pie in liquid form. Well done by a kick-ass brewery.
