| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Dark reddish brwon color with a nice head. Aroma very pleasant, nice spicey pie aroma. Taste much lighter than I expected and than I remember from previous seasons. Good body. Sweet taste with a little bitterness. More aroma then flavor. A little alcohol but not as strong as I hoped for this brew. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Murky brown pour, small white head. Aroma is cinnamon and pumpkin. Flavor is a touch of pumpkin, caramel, a slight chocolate touch, cinnamon and nutmeg. Hoppy aftertaste. Flavor is a little muted on the pumpkin and should be more flavorful. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2007 deep amber, velvety thick light tan head. winter spice aroma of cinnamon, ginger, pumpkin, malt. Flavor somewhat carbonated up front. Surprisingly, the spice flavors dominate the flavor with the cinnamon and cardamom coming through. Actually, otherwise quite thin. Nice mild bitter and of course spicy finish. tgncc (838), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Beautiful aroma, spicy, w/cinnamon, and baked pie notes. Color is standard hazy orange, yet it is an attractive appearance. Flavor is strange, the baked pie and cinnamon/cloves/nutmeg are all there, but are fainter than expected, and vanish quickly. Spicy on the palate at the finish, and it’s here you pick up even the slightest trace of the 8% abv. Great beer, however. Beers like this are what make me look forward to fall. Overall, a good pumkin ale. CharlesDarwin (1849), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2007 22 Oz Bottle. Fluctuating delightful minty spice, with herabacous florals rolled
into an Indian botique. Piquant and with potpourri, blessed in spiced
delight. Mulled. Pours a very clear deeply hued orange, with a rim of
silken fresh whipped cream and vanilla. Flavor develops more complex
notes of the spices, over a backing of wheat oils, warming alcohols,
fruit flesh, and growing cinnamon singularity. Toothy, yet dry and
yielding. Wonderful spice character. As clean and revealing as I could
hope for. Edging towards a saison distinction, but holding onto that
particular Pumpkin Pie Spice clade of flavors, backed with a bit of
vegetal background and a nice leafy hop finish. Alcohols play really
well and a few unique yeast esters pop in to play with the spices.
Excellent stuff. An awesome fall beer, with everything doing well. after4ever (2806), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2007 22. Thanks, FranksnBeans! Pours a deep dark copper with a thickish, moussy, off-white head. Deep cloves and pie spice notes on the nose. Medium body, light carb, and sweet, pie spicey, clovey attack. Rich but not cloying body on the mid-palate; this one holds its own and goes down in a fairly straightforward spicey finish. There are a few fairly clean pumpkin beers and this is definitely one of them. sirpsycho (350), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Amber pour. Aroma promises nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin. Flavor teases you with the same but does not fully deliver, very subdued flavors immediately, but then they disappear.
