That stays well and laces down the glass. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit hops over light caramel malts. Flavor is those same hops with a little more of a malt presence. The hops are much less noticable in the flavor than the aroma. There is also the usual house flavor found in other weyerbachers I’ve tried there. Palate seems a little unbalanced to me. This is drinkable but not what I expect in an american IPA. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 18, 2005 Poured an effervescent amber with a small semi-creamy white head. Clean citrus hop aroma with a touch of acidity. Taste is comparatively mild ctirusy hops with a bit of grass and a dry toffee and alcohol finish. Nothing bad about it, but nothing memorable either. Inferior to hops infusion. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Not very hoppy aroma was suprising. malt and under ripe fruit dominates the aroma. Orange/red in color with huge fluffy white head. Flavor is mildly hoppy with a rich malt base underneath. Comes off as more an English style IPA than American. Also more my style. The hops are present, but not rioting. pineypower (1095), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 3, 2005 Pours an amber color with a decent sized creamy head. The aroma is of floral hops. Think this one’s aroma was better than the taste. Taste was not very balanced and had some strange spice character I couldn’t pick up. CaptainCougar (5488), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 28, 2005 Pours a clear copper orange with a forthy, nicely-lacing white head. Has a dry, earthy, semi-tart hoppy aroma. Starts with some dry caramel maltiness, but has some vegetable character among a touch of citrusy hops. I’m not a big fan of the vegetable flavor and I think this needs more balance. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2005 Poured a clear amber color with a cream colored head. Malty sweet with cirtus and floral hops. Flavors of toffee and apricot with light butterscotch. Bitter and light alc finish. Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2005 Out of a bottle. Aroma particularly basement must and earth. Poured a darker orange with a creamy head. Flavor is toasty malt with a light smoke giving way to the citric hoppy side. The woodiness seems to linger in the palate. Overall good, I’d say it would be a starter for someone who isn’t into IPA’s. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 3, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with hopdog, thanks Steve!) Earthy, woody, toasty and slightly musty nose isn’t impressing me because there really isn’t much of a hop aroma here, and this is supposed to be an IPA. The flavor also boasts a dry, strongly woody and toasty malt and balanced by a moderately bitter and citrusy hops. Medium bodied, well carbonated, round mouthfeel through to the finish. Slightly hazy, bright orange color, with a small off-white head that completely disappears, not even a small ring around the edge of the glass, and thus, lacing is practically non-existent. Not a bad beer, to me probably about average for the style, but it’s just not doing it for me.
