Being rather fond of the IPA style I was eager to try this one. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a chestnut color with a large tan head. The aroma is sweet and spicy with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. The flavor is sweet and nutty with lots of spicy hops. The fruity aspects of the hops are rather subdued though. The finish is nutty malt. A nice IPA but there are too many that I am far more fond of. r464 (286), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 24, 2005 A nice amber color with a faint head. I agree with the description from the brewer completely, but I wish there would have been a stronger hops finish. The tail end of the flavor just fades out. willblake (2187), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Dark copper-amber pour with big and lacy white head, sticky. Aroma is dried fruits (peach, apricot, golden raisin) and below a waft of cat and piney hops and some buttered resin. Flavor features some roasted peat and black pepper along with more resinous, citrus tree hops, detergent-floral. Creamy and peppery palate is a bit like an IPA mousse--could be more crisp. shameusburp (171), Virginia, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 24, 2005 Pour is copper amber with a thin off white head...smell is a little fruity indeed with some dessert fruits, soap, citrus-grapefruit...taste is a little sweet and malty up front, but strangely bitter toward the end...bitter in an unpleasant way... | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2005 Poured a dark amber/copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of pine, spices, and caramel. Aromas where not over powering in the hoppy sense. Medium bitter with a malt balance. Softer tastes of caramel, citrus and a light smoky finish. Thinner body. Not a typical IPA, but quite drinkable (would make a good session beer). raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
