355 ml bottle from a trade. i cant remeber from who though (sorry). pours clear amber with a fizzy tan head that is gone quickly. nose of fussel alcohol. touch of vanilla oak and caramel. the flavour is similar. huge alcohol pressence and borderline undrinkable at this point. i drank this way to young.

It pours a nice clear mahogany with a thick but not persistent pale tan head. Aroma is more like a brandy than a beer, fruity with a strong alcohol overtone. Flavor is brandy-ish, strongly fruity with a hint of caramel and a strong alcohol bite. Texture is silky-smooth and very edgy - it practically burns on the way down, like hard liquor.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown-amber-red with a small bubbly white head. Rich aroma, lots of wood and bourbon, with malt, brown sugar, and booze. Sweet big taste, of malt, caramel, oak, bourbon, alcohol. Hides the alcohol reasonably well. Lingering rich bourbon-oak. Really nice.

Hazy amber with orange and reddish hues. dense off-white head disappaited quickly. Thick malty nose with a hint of friut (plum). Big and heavy on the tongue. Alcohol presence is very apparent, finishes with a taste of a liquor (bourbon/whiskey). Hint of raisins, fruit in the big malt palate. This is pretty insane.

From notes. Bottle. Poured a dark red color with a very small head. Aroma of rasion, vanilla, wood and alcohol. Taste is lots of dark fruit and alcohol, with some oak and vanilla notes at the end. Very nice.

22 oz bottle. Dark maroon-amber pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of hops and faint vanilla. Sharp taste of hops, oak, whiskey and malt. Lasting alcohol finish.

2009 bomber poured into a snifter... brilliant deep red hue with a quarter inch off white head... a true beauty. the beer hits your nose with deep vanilla notes laced with some bourbon which leaves a slight tingle in your nose.... I wish the overall aroma was more pronounced - I felt I had to really focus on it to get much out on to the nose. once the beer rolls over your tongue, you can feel the oak aging come full strength... there is a good amount of vanilla and a touch of bourbon on the tip and sides, while the top and overall body carry a very smooth and deep body full of sweet malt, caramel notes and mild fruit notes such as pear, apple and plum. this finishes strong with a burst of alcohol and more intensified fruits... with a tad bit of lingering bourbon... overall a very well balanced barrel aged barley wine.... very enjoyable...
