Sweet barlywine taste with lots of bourbon. Bourbon is mild and does not overly dominate the beer. ChainGangGuy (2613), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 4, 2007 Appearance: Pours a bright, though murky dark-hued ruby body with a cream tan-colored head. The game is afoot!
Smell: Okay, here’s the skinny. The bourbon tones are quite intense, with notes of oak, vanilla, and sugar. A captivating smell, to say the least.
Taste: Let’s of things going on here. Strong toffee maltiness and a soft touch of candy sugar evolves into an immense bourbon flavor. The sweet vanilla notes mingle with a certain fruitiness to create a cream of coconut flavor. Smooth, warming bourbon finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body, with a thick, luscious mouthfeel and almost nil carbonation.
Drinkability: Delicious! Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to deceive and delude you. Its hard not to express a deep love for this beer with the addictive furvor of a crackhouse reject.
Thanks for another fun-filled beer experience from... Weyerbacher Brewing Co.! elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2007 Updated: May 28, 2007Poured a dark copper to almost brown color, decent initial head. The aroma was bourbon, oak, dark fruits, figs, caramel. The flavor followed suit, a nice recollection of the blithering idiot, yet with significant bourbon barrell elements and oak, brown sugar, molasses. A nicely done barrell aging, good wood notes, firm bourbon, bordering on too much, yet done nicely. Mouthfeel was full, only sticky at higher temperatures. A nice job by the W. lagomswedish (213), Umeå, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2007 A gifted bottle from Jorgen in Stockholm (great night my friend!!!) Poured a cloudy, peachy amber with a thin white head that fizzled out quickly. Background aromas of orange, sugar, pineapple and lychee, with a bourbon twist. On the palate the acohol heat lingered long after the initial fruit tastes subsided, which loses marks in my book. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

A really wonderful smell, really complex and intermingling scents meld nicely together. Appearance is a clear mohogany with a medium sized tan head that lingers. Taste is Wow, at first it seems weak, but the flavors just develop as they pour over your tongue and slide down the back of your throat. Quite lively artistan bread like taste, plums, a light lemon note, I’m really glad that this is my 400th because I think I aged this one just right. Cheers and I’m going to listen to my songs!!!! | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2007 Happy Birthday to me! This is the beer I chose to celebrate my 35th birthday today...I love blithering idiot, so I was very excited to try this...Poured a cloudy golden brown color. Huge head, left beautiful lacing on my glass. Smell was apples, cinnamon, and alcohol! Taste was the same. Pretty full tasting beer. And the alcohol comes in pretty strong...This was probably one of my favorite barrel aged barley wines, but I still think I prefer the B. Idiot. Still tho, a VERY good beer. Better then Blasphemy in my oppinion. I really like Weyerbacher’s beers. Truly.
