Sweetness, marzipan, medicin, vanilla and coconut. in the aroma. Flavour as well is on the sweet and spiced side. Loads of vanilla and coconut, probably from the bourbon cask. Alcohol is well hidden. Is quite smooth and easy to drink. Full bodied. Is spiced and quite fruity in the end. Alcoholwarmth on lips and palate. Thanks go to Probiere for this gem. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

Very sweet flavour with taste notes of bourbon, vanilla, white chocolate, coconuts and caramel. Medium to full bodied. Slightly too sweet and bourbony for my likings, but not as extreme as others I’ve tasted. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2006 22 OZ bottle via Footblam (thanks eric!).Pours a hazy orange/dark brown with a small beige head. Nose is fruity and alcoholic with a bit of wood. Taste is of cherries, licorice, oak and alcohol. I do not normally care for oak aged beer, but this one is actually pretty good. It would likely be better if laid down for a year or so, as it is a bit rough, but nonetheless it is very drinkable if you can get past the burn in the finish. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 26, 2006 Updated: Nov 2, 2007Deep reddish-brown color with decent head. Appealing aroma of Bourbon, dark fruits, roasted sweet malts. Taste has noticeable bourbon/wood undertones combined with sweet, fruity malts and a nice hop backing. Alcohol still a bit more noticeable than I would prefer. Grainy-wood taste to finish things off. Overall, still a bit on the hot side, but I have a whole case (minus 1) left so we’ll see how things progress. Very similar to a Blithering Idiot + some bourbon flavor. Another really good one from Weyerbacher! iowaherkeye (1863), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2006 22oz bomber courtesy of sliffy, no date. Pours a cloudy brownish red with a 1/2 finger fading beige head. Aroma is quite bourbony and malty--quite a bit of oak, vanilla and almonds--toffee and lighter toasty malts, and a little piney resiny hops. Flavor was a little less sweet than I expected, and the alcohol was quite hot--otherwise the same. Bone dry slightly bitter finish. Lighter bodied than expected as well, creamy moderate carbonation. Better than I expected. 8.4.8.5.16--4.1
Update: at first I didn’t think this was very sweet (taste), but I realized that I don’t think I can make it through the 22oz due to the sweetness. I guess the hops mask the sweetness fairly well--for a while. New rating: 8.4.7.5.15--3.9 rickgordon (3313), Göteborg, Sweden

Murky amber colour. Dried fruits, almond paste and berries in aroma. Also big alcohol presence. Flavour is wonderful - with fresh toffee/butterscotch along with dried fruits. Also bit salty. Bit reminiscent of whiskey in the flavour profile maybe? Very rounded mouthfeel with a bit presence of almonds. Good long finish. Marsiblursi (1650), Göteborg, Sweden
