Commercial Description:
Insanity, first released November 2004, is Weyerbacher's latest creation in the world of cutting edge beers. This incredible combination creates a melange of flavors such as malt, dates, oak, vanilla, and bourbon just to name a few.

This is awesome! VERY strong and tastes it! Great flavor. Can’t drink many of these, though!

Tap. Pours a deep amber and has a nice off-white head. Nose is sweet with scents of vanilla and malt. Tastes thick and caramely, but completely smooth and lusciously mouth coating. High alcohol content (12%) offset by sweetness and mellow balanced flavors.

Bomber from Santa
Pours a rich amber/brown with a very sweet aroma of cotton candy and bourbon. Slow moving carbonation and clinging lace are noticeable. Taste is a mellow flow of bourbon and oak, followed by a sweet finish. Fantastic. Utterly fantastic. Palate drips along the tongue, tickling each taste bud with a feather of bourbon as it travels along toward the belly. Warm and invigorating as it falls down the esophogus. This is a DEFINITE repeat (hopefully), and a nice treat. Thanks Santa!

12 oz bottle Lets start by saying this is a little different. Pours a cloudy red auburn. Has a lasting light brown head. It is very murky. Has a toasted oak sweet aroma. A sweet acid taste, very soda like. Has a scotch taste its like scotch beer. Its different but kinda good. Strong abv. Don’t drink too many fast.

I think thanks go out to boto for sending this months ago! This starts out with an average sized head of light brown over a dark orange body. The aroma is light malt with some raisin and a fair amount of vanilla. If the oak adds the vanilla to this it is a very nice touch indeed. Sweet but not cloying, and with a very smooth delivery. Very nice.

Re-rate. 22 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy pinkish brown with an off white 1.5 finger head. Aroma is very fruity with notes of vanilla, pine, and alchohol. Flavor is strong of alcohol, sweet burnt caramel that fades into toffee, nuts, and hops. Big mouthfeel with this one. Very good. I agree that it some how is better in 22 oz. than 12 oz.

Pours red-orange with a half-finger white head. The first impression of the aroma is raisin and sweet malt. The oak and bourbon aromas are subtle, but add a clear burnt wood and vanilla character. The flavor starts off promising, much smoother than the Blithering Idiot, but that doesn’t last long. The middle is hot and malty, with that raisin creeping in around the corners. The bourbon aging comes through at the end with some mellow wood and whiskey notes. The finish is oaky, with some light alcohol flavor. Better than the original, but not worth it.

Dark reddish color with a tan head. Arma of bourbon, vanilla and wood. Tastes of much the same with some alcohol hot edge. A great beer to have on special occasions.
