Bottle. Pours amber orange with a beige head. Sweet malty aroma, with bourbon, fruit and raisins. Bourbon and oak feature in the flavor, with sweet malts and dark fruits. Good, but not all that impressive.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a dark copper . Very sweet nose with hints of the barrel aging, and alcohol. But to be expected at 11%. Very smooth and tasty, but very sweet this young.

Bottle from Wegmans in Princeton, NJ. Deep amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, bourbon, oak, and dark fruits. Flavor is more of the same with the bourbon really standing out and notes of fig, date, and vanilla. Smooth, fairly full and syrupy palate.

Pours amber with thin white head. Smells of bourbon and vanilla. Tastes of caramel, oak and caramel with subtle hints of roasted figs. Smooth and creamy on the palate with a little heat on the finish. Cant really tell its 11.1% alcohol. Good brew.

The name says it all. Pours a light amber with a little head that quickly dissipates. With sweet aromas of malt and vanilla. The sweet and spicy notes are well balanced. The barrel brings out some oak and light bourbon flavors.

Bomber into shaker. Purchased at Discount Liquor in Milwaukee. Hazy orange brown with a yellow head that’s fuzzy and dissipates into a mottled surface of bubbles. Rich smell of golden raisin, vanilla, and syrup. Creamy and full in texture, sweet but not intensely so, mostly tastes of overripe fruit, butterscotch, and twigs. The bourbon barrel comes out with some more vanilla in the finish, which is smooth and maybe a bit mealy. It is kind of a mess, but I find it tasty nonetheless. The bourbon is restrained (I don’t find it "boozy" at all) and I’m a sucker for a full barleywine. Glad I bought it.
