| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Pours a dark reddish amber color with a small tan head that fades quickly. The aroma is complex and shows hints of caramel, dark fruits, bourbon, vanilla, and raisins. The flavor followed with sweet theme of the aroma with caramel, candy sugar, bourbon kissed strawberries, and some oaky vanilla. The alcohol is quite noticeable on the way down. Medium bodied and smooth, but a touch syrupy on the palate. Finishes long and sweet with a good dose of warming from the alcohol. Pretty good barrel aged barleywine. | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Pours a light tan colour, very murky and floaty filled, looks like next day gravy that has somewhat separated, oily and fatty, weird .. . dense .. god, no balance at all .. .SWEET! and over oaked, gross stuff.. even my boy S to D:the original J.C- scoobz had trouble with it, but he enjoyed it slightly better than i did.. . the beer is named insanity, as in i am insane because i bought another weyerbacher piece of shit .. .
another RB member earlier writes here the perfect quote to place this beer and weyerbacher in general:
"Ok, this one is a good candidate for "just because you can, doesn’t mean you should"

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Thanks kiefdog and gunhaver for the share. Pours amber with a white head. Nose is caramel, booze, whiskey, vanilla, raisin, date, sugar, and malt. Flavor is same-raisin, date, caramel/ toffee, whiskey, and vanilla with an oaky/ vanilla-y finish. Nice and smooth. Heresy is the best from Weyerbacher, but this is a close 2nd. Rciesla (3830), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2009 On draft at Blind Tiger. Pours a mahogany body with a thin tan lacing. Oaky vanilla, hints of bourbon, and salt. Some sweet chewy malt character and a hint of wood. When properly cellar-ed this beer can be incredible however my current draft rating is 3.9. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Sampled at the barrel-aged tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 4.2.09. Deep amber pour with a medium beige head. Oaky vanilla aroma with a ton of malt and some fruit. Vanilla and spice flavor with alcohol, malt, fruit and a sweet finish. Decent, but a bit too sweet. Some BA b-wines have a tendency to shave off some sweetness and those are preferable. BrewDad (2372), Olympia, Washington, USA
