Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Pours a hazy golden color with a medium soapy head that fades quickly and leaves no lacing. Aroma is clove, coriander, banana, and spice. Taste is your tyipcal Tripel - Sugary sweetness, banana. Good, but nothing special.

Sample @ BBF 08, Boston. Pours a golden color with a fluffy but quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma was clove, banana, Belgian candy sugar, and spice. Taste is pretty much the same, with an added element of dark fruit you don’t usually find in this style. The palate is a bit watery, and the flavors, while solid, are not as strong as I would’ve liked....I’d call it just OK.

Single from Woodmans Oak Creek. Strong Clove and a hint of Banana slight sweetness. One of the better US Abbey brews.

Pours a golden color with some semi-frothy white head that fades quickly. Aroma is of ripe fruit, yeast, sugar, belgian spice and light cherry. Taste is much the same with a cherry infusion of sorts. Taste is a bit harsh and abrasive across the palate. Moderate carbonation. Not bad, but not a fan.

Pours clear gold, no head or lace. Nose of spice, sugar, alcohol, yeast. Taste is similar, with a slight warming alcohol finish. Sugar is very present. Mouth is light and fizzy. Not too bad.

Thanks Dakine. Opaque golden orange beer with a small and short lived almost white head. Aroma jumps out and stands out as being distinct and pleasant. Candi sugar, yeast, citrus, and alcohol. As well as the above there is some nice peppery spice. Rich effervescence set the tongue to dancing and smooth to boot. This one is cloyingly sweet but still quite tasty and a fun beer. It was fun in that it shocked so many senses. Big nose, high abv, super sweetness, zesty feel.

Bottle into a trappist glass. Aroma is spice with a bit of mellow sweetness. The taste is spice with some sweet citrus taste along with a good yeast flavor. I wouldn’t buy this again only because compared with some of the other Tripels out there this one really doesn’t hold up too well.

Bright orange hue, not much head and it fades fast. Very little carbonation, especially for a Belgium. Strong honey aroma like a mead. I imagine the honey aroma comes from the alcohol skyrocket of this beer. Sweet taste, honey and rock candy as well as big malt. Sweet flavor over powers the alcohol. Palate is pretty good. In summation it can’t compare to masterful foreign Belgium blends.
