Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Bottle: Poured a golden yellow color with not much head. The aroma was yeasty and citrus. The flavor was sweet with fruit like apple, banana, and pear with a touch of maltyness. Overall, this one surprised me with its smoothness and drink ability.

Pours golden brown with a nice white head. Not too much carbonation and a good emulation of the Trippels I must say. Nice bitter and caramel aftertaste combination too.

Well balanced. Smells of sugar and yeast. The bitter sweet flavor hides the alcohol.

bottle. small (immediately dissapating) head into clear golden body. aromas of light alcohol, yeast, moderate candied sugar, heavy cloves, light hops, and light lemongrass. flavor is moderately sweet throughout. moderate mouthfeel (on the velvety side). average carbonation. moderate to long finish duration. Okay stuff...

12 oz bottle - Pours a fairly clear yellow/orange color with a medium sized pure white head. Aroma is fairly estery, with notes of bananna and pear, light crispy caramel, creamy, touch of grains of paradise. Flavor is light and crisp, with lightly kilned malts, touch of honey and light caramel, hint of bananna. Finish is mildly sweet. Overally pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good.

Clear gold body with a minimal fizzy head. Smells bready, spicy, nutty, and citric. The taste is overly sweet, with apple, pear, slight vinegar, caramel, peppery, clove, rye, and butterscotch notes. Effervescent mouthfeel. I like it more aged. Not a bad beer, but certainly nothing special.

Bottle, Haven’t had in the Trappist just a pint glass, whatever. Poured an orange yellow with white head. Yeast and sugar in the aroma into the pallet. Carbonation sweet and a little sourness. Crisp but not a thriller.
